Yes, Lu47 and e85 all day N/A. 508 WHP

If you want a little extra margin over the LU47, Lethal Performance sells 55lb injectors. They're actually OEM Ford parts, IIRC from the newer GT500. Use one of the online calculators to compare duty cycle between the 47 and 55 for your crank HP and fuel pressure.

I thought so too, until my AI buddy (call him HAL) says I am short of fuel. The logs are good and my tuner is Happy, but the AI's math logic has me second guessing.

That sounds good, will take a look, Thanks

I fed all my cars data into the computer and it told me that I need a fuel surge system and that I need larger injectors. It more or less demanded that I log the car at the track and that I don't not need any more HP. Cheeky bugger said "improve your driving" says that I should be faster....

Now I don't want to give it any more info just in case I suck!!

All I can tell ya is I didn't see higher than 45% fuel pump duty cycle during my datalog. I could go double-check to be sure, but I'm just on the stock fuel pump.

Your tuner is AED, right? I'm sure Shaun has the answer.

Yup Shawn was fine with the tune. Thanks for the info, that was with E85 right??

Yessir. I'll double-check it when I get home -- in fact, I'll just screenshot the log for ya so you can see. I was concerned about it so I put it on the display and was watching it, and the number I remember as the max was 45%. This was for a WOT pull log.

AI rides the short bus to school sometimes.

Lookin forward to new videos of Porsches getting gapped!

I found it depends on which AI you use.. Google Gemini sucks big time, its wrong about 50% of the time. Anthropic is something else, I asked Claude to review TMO and then comment. It was pretty much bang on about everything. It basically said I suck because I am not faster then the Clubsport GT4 cars. Told me to shift faster (currently at 0.3s per upshift), change slicks and lose weight. I was offended, but it might be right. It wants me to get a 10hz gps so it can review my driving along with my engine logs with more presicion......... Also told me to by a better data logger.. a MPVI4

I did some light research on this a while back, and basically came to the conclusion that for E85 in an N/A Coyote, the LU47 will run out of "safe" (80-85%) duty cycle a little before 500whp.

Here's what Google says now --
At an 85% duty cycle on E85 (assuming a Brake Specific Fuel Consumption/BSFC of ~0.65 for E85 naturally aspirated/bolt-on applications) and factory Coyote fuel pressure (~55 psi), the estimated horsepower limits for each injector set on a 2013 Mustang Boss 302 are as follows:

Estimated Horsepower Limits (85% Duty Cycle, E85)

Ford Performance LU47 (47 lb/hr @ 39.15 psi)

  • Adjusted Flow at 55 psi: ~55.7 lb/hr
  • Crank Horsepower: ~583 hp
  • Wheel Horsepower (WHP): ~495 whp
LP55 (55 lb/hr @ 39.15 psi)
  • Adjusted Flow at 55 psi: ~64.4 lb/hr
  • Crank Horsepower: ~673 hp
  • Wheel Horsepower (WHP): ~572 whp

Thanks!.... thats more or less what Anthropic it is telling me now and it made me nervous. I think I will run it again and double check. Because it seems that I am in the red with 527rwhp on the LU47 injectors.

When we got 527rwhp the dyno operator asked us to keep it limited to 7500rpm for some speed issues he was having. Maybe we made a little more at 8000rpm?

OK -- here's my log. I was a little off, the reading was 48.

Did a little reading and it looks like everybody else is right -- Apparently this value you have to multiply times two to get the percentage for some reason. So this means at WOT my fuel pump is running at 96% of what it's capable of. So maybe a different fuel pump is in order, @Mad Hatter -- however, I do know that there are plenty of boosted guys that run boost-a-pumps and it seems to work well for them. Not sure how well that'd hold up on track for extended periods though.

Glad ya'll made me take a 2nd look! FYI -- Lund tuned me with a rev limiter of 8200 RPM. I told them this was concerning to me, but they said that's their standard rev limit for an e85 tuned Boss. So I figured I'll just trust them for now and try to avoid going that high... Also -- You'll see in this log, I hit a max of 8200 RPM. I was expecting to hit the rev limiter so I wasn't looking to let off the gas. Scared the crap outta me when I saw it but -- the car seemed to handle it this time, and it even seemed to make power that high too. Maybe it's OK cause I'm on ethanol?

Oh, boy.... my local tuner here in Chile is telling me "I told you so", he found the LU47 to close to the edge when the engine arrived. Great confirmation and thanks for help! I felt comforted since AED said it was fine. But now, thinking about he coming season, I was hoping to do a 3 hour enduro and that's going to be asking a lot at near 100% duty cycle.. Or past.... going to hunt up my logs

These guys seem to be right about the injectors too but, it seems like you'll need more fuel pump to handle more injector too. -- That is if you don't already. Not sure what you're running in that beast.
