Well, within reason, I am happy today. The parts I ordered from Calimer more then cover the parts that died in my most recent dead MT82. Will do a full rebuild in any case to leave it in the best possible condition.

Finding the false knock probably caused this trannies early demise. The car pulled hard with its new "street:" race gas tune but the e85 swap was delayed because of the of the broken tranny. To get rid of the knock we had to make a small modification to the custom headers so it would not knock on the starter under load.

And.... We found a short 15mm wrench in the K brace.....

Though the starter motor is the more likely culprit.
You should be an expert at removing and reinstalling the MT82 at this point. I hope this one lasts a bit longer than the last few.

Lost our faithful assistant and life coach Elrond last night. Gone at 14 years old, working on the car without him will feel strange.

I feel for you. I don't look forward to the day when we have to say our next goodbye. It was tough with our last two dogs but it's going to even more heart wrenching with the one we have now, who grew up with our girls. Sorry to hear about this MH.

Always tough to lose one of the family and those of us who have owned dogs or other pets, can relate to your loss. They are so non judgmental , animals are the calming members so many of us need in a troubling World.

Sorry for your loss. My German Shepherd will be 13 on Friday. I have watched her decline the last year. I am afraid I am coming up on the same situation before too much longer.

Thanks Guys. Yup, its hard to see them get older before your eyes. We still have his brother, Aragorn, to take care of us for now but he is also having a hard time getting around now.. Tolkien junkies from way back. The gang of cats are still here though, demanding attention etc. the oldest is 17 and seems to never age. Beginning to wonder about him, maybe he is a alien.

So sorry for your loss. Our dogs really are part of the family. ( Especially when you have no children). We need to do a pooch photo thread. There's a place south of Myrtle Beach that literally 100s of people hang photos of their past dogs - really cool.

Just posting to show proof of life down here. Been hard at work so that I can afford to race again some time soon. Since work is at a critical stage, am not allowed to play till its running at 100%, so passed a invitation for Cars an Coffee track day to my mechanic, as he is my future enduro co-pilot and needed some track time. Car was a bit rough around the edges but the video here shows the power is pretty good!! He was not comfortable with the car yet so he did not brake hard with the gt4, but you can see the car pulls like a train.

Looks killer!

Well, am hard at work with no time for the luxuries of life like racing... But, did get invited to run for free at the yearly cars and Coffee event. Gave the spot up to my trusty mechanic who I have sorted adopted. He did well for his first time out. Had problems with late braking and carrying to much speed into the curves (corner exit understeer, not enough rotation under braking etc). He left the usual GT4 cars in the dust, but a gt4 Clubsport took first place. Not at all bad for a olde stick axle car!! Now I have my driver for the endurance races we hope to have in the future.

Here is a video with proof that mustangs can beat a Porsche GT4. Well, maybe not the clubsports. But they don't even have a Vin number. The rest of the GT4's at the back of the pack are with newer hoosiers and are not stock in any way. This was with my guy driving the Boss.

Both Mustangs are with the typical TMO setups, the blue one has the cortex watts setup and both are on really old rubber.

Well, its been ages since anything happened to the Boss so her is a brief update. We have our annual Cars&Coffee trackday next week and since I am stuck at work, my mechanic will be driving. Turned out to be a good idea since he made a extensive dyno tune with the new E85 setup. The car now has 527rwhp and 438 torque. Zero knock and the cars running cooler, hope I can get a video of the race at least!!! Pretty happy with these numbers for a gen1 Coyote!!!

That’s awesome!

Sadly, my original Boss heads got damaged in the third engine death. So these were Livernois stage 2 gen1 heads that were sent straight to Shaun so he could do his thing putting the engine together. In the end its a pretty straight forward TMO type engine. The Gen3 stock shortblock with the ported heads, cobrajet manifold with the 67mm TB's, LM intake only cams, custom exhaust and headers and thats it. I think the Dyno tune, that took 2 days on the dyno, helped a lot thought. It took him a while to dial it in.

the car has three tunes now.
1) 93 tune with a very mild setup and 490whp
2) 98 Race gas tune with 516 whp
3) E85 tune with 527whp

It was easy to see that the Livernois ported heads were better then the OEM Boss heads. They had very similar numbers that my previous ported Boss heads had.

Yup, I remember.
I had thought my ported gen 2 heads would have made more than they did. I also have a 65mm TB instead of 67mm but the rest of the motor is twin to yours.
I wonder if the difference is in that particular dyno or from the climate where you are, or the heads or something else. The most I've seen here is 507 hp.
