Sadly, my original Boss heads got damaged in the third engine death. So these were Livernois stage 2 gen1 heads that were sent straight to Shaun so he could do his thing putting the engine together. In the end its a pretty straight forward TMO type engine. The Gen3 stock shortblock with the ported heads, cobrajet manifold with the 67mm TB's, LM intake only cams, custom exhaust and headers and thats it. I think the Dyno tune, that took 2 days on the dyno, helped a lot thought. It took him a while to dial it in.

the car has three tunes now.
1) 93 tune with a very mild setup and 490whp
2) 98 Race gas tune with 516 whp
3) E85 tune with 527whp

It was easy to see that the Livernois ported heads were better then the OEM Boss heads. They had very similar numbers that my previous ported Boss heads had.
Did you ever have an AED tune? This the same guy you have been using all along or is this a new guy?

It was with AED tunes for ages, this time around its my long time mechanics tune. He has made quite a name for himself here in Chile. Frequent trips to miami to talk to drag racer engine builders etc. He grew up in his dads shop working on race cars then and put himself through school for a mechanical engineering, No small feet down here. I didn't let him tune my car for ages because I felt better with a gringo tune:cool: . But now that he has a whole bunch of ridiculously powerfull supercharged and turbo charged mustangs that have been doing well at the drag strip, I thought its time let him loose on the Boss. On the race gas he got identical numbers that I had with my previous AED race gas tune.

He recently finished a 1500rwhp twin turbo mustang, and it has not blown up yet! so fingers crossed.

I seem to remember that Shaun mentioned that the livernois stage 2 heads would make a little more power then your gen 2 heads that he had cleaned up. Also I suspect the custom headers and with a big custom collector/xpipe might help as well. We noticed did notice a decent improvement over the Kooks setup we had before. My previous Kooks xpipe did not suck at all.. (not good in this case)..I don't know if you remember that video of the custom xpipe he made sucking up toilet paper?? and the kooks doing nothing at all!

The dyno usually gets the typical numbers you would expect from coyotes. My buddies 2013 car got 460whp on the same dyno, in his gen1/gen3 hybrid with a boss manifold, LTH and custom exhaust/tune.

I remember the X pipe.
One thing drag racers do it use a lot of timing, not good for road course. Hopefully he's hip to that and you don't have any problems.

Yup, I asked him to keep it within the timing limits that we had before with AED tunes. Was very happy to see no knock at all in the e85 tune! With AED I had to do with long distance tunes for obvious reasons. Being able to sit on the dyno all day helped a lot!.

Just checked the timing, the new 93 gas street tune is with 24.5degrees ( with 4 degrees advance). That gave 490whp! pretty happy about that. If I remember right the previous race gas tune was 27.5 EDIT**with + 3 degrees. He ran both the previous AED and the new 98 tune on the dyno to check as a control. They were pretty much identical which made me feel happy. Red is the new 98 tune.

EDIT * Forgot how to read logs. 27.5 was total timing.

I don't know what my timing is, I just bring him the car and he does his thing. I'd sure like to have a little bump in HP somehow.

Sal. your a super fabricator!! My bet its due to the collector on the header that he made. You could do one in you sleep! Its interesting to have a sct around so you can log the car at any time and spot problems before etc.

Still looking for pics... But how about this.

Not happened to us before but I guess all that traction took its toll. No damage to the car, but that ended its race on Sunday. On Saturday they had a Ford race, which was mainly a whole bunch of the typical Cars and Coffee mustangs with massive whipples and nothing less the 700whp etc. They protested the Boss so they had to remove the rear wing and put on the street rim savers to be able to race. The boss won by a huge margin being 2.4s per lap faster then the next best blown mustang. Oh well, maybe next year I can race again!
