Love to hear the affects of the 315's on your lap times!

Me too...

Currently running PZero slick scrubs so I'm hoping that slightly larger, sticker Hoosiers are at least equivalent.

New dampers on the way from Vorshlag in a couple weeks as well that should really make a difference.

New wheels and dampers... doubly awesome 8)

Are those the +47 offset from OutPerformance?

A 315 on a 10.5 will have the same contact patch as a 305. 315 needs 11"+ for maximum performance.

Yep understand that too...but this is the best size I can do to achieve the move back to DOTs to shrug a bunch of weight off the car. Dampers more important than custom 11" wheel prices, and the "economical" 11" wheels can't be rotated.

Good reasons.

There's no 305 though?

Not in a tire that's worth a damn :( So it was either 295 (with an even SMALLER OD, no thanks) or 315 with about the same OD as my PZero 645s.

I was hoping the Toyo RR would have some 305 or 315 sizes this year but looks like that won't happen until 2016 at the earliest. Not as much ultimate performance as the Hoosier but pretty close for a couple hundred bucks less per set.

Test fit new Forgestar 18 x 11s with a Hoosier R6 315/30/18. I needed 3/8" (9mm) spacer to give me about 4mm clearance to the strut. Too tight? :-\ Next need to know if they'll hit the fenders. I tried different approaches to compress the front as much as I could short of putting it on track. I used 5" of boards under the front tire to compress it. How much further will it travel before hitting the bump stops?

This is the passenger side loaded just sitting on the ground.

What I do is take some blue painters tape and tape it up along the inside of the fender lip then inspect after track.
But because I'm also running big meat up front I increased my spring rates to 800lbs. You will need pretty stiff front but you'll know for sure after a couple hard laps.
Best I could fit was 18x10.5 305's with 1/2" spacer to give it good clearance (brake and strut) and to keep it from poking out too much. Won't pass some clubs tech if it shows outside the fender.

Gary - It is surprising how much wider the Hoosiers appear to be than the Conti's. Hard to believe these will not rub. I am open to rolling the fender if need be to get these to work. Do you know what NASA's rule is about the fender coverage? Just that alone may force the fender roll.

Cloud9, is that the Forgestar from Vorshlag?
Yes. I'm leaning toward just running the same 295 up front and 315 out back that I've been running. It should still net a larfer contact patch running thos size tires on 18x11 and 18x12 wheels versus the 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 wheels I have been using.

Got the 315 R7s on the car now on all 4 corners. The wheels (PF01+38 10.5) poke at each corner. Looks appropriate for racecars :)

There is a very slight fender rub I can see after two sessions, rolling tomorrow should cure that. .25in spacer up front each side. Very close to locking collar on the coilover strut but no contact after a thrashing on-track at Willow Springs.

This setup has over an inch more tire width vs. the 305 pirellis on a 10" wide wheel, not to mention a wider track width all-around.

No rubbing in the back? Looks good.
