So basically if you win a race they punish you to prevent it from happening again???
Pretty much, the GSX rules are frozen for the weekend, but you can be sure they will change. As for the GS car, they are more " flexible". They can use an intake restrictor, fuel capacity, and even a fuel flow restrictor in the pit tank, along with things like wing angle, camber angles... etc. There's a million ways they can mess with you.

Decades old BOP system, where if you win you get weight added or other items. Not just done in the US, it has been a practice Worldwide for many, many years. It is frustrating for Engineers to get a machine running great and then one is penalized. To some extent some feel it is a bit more exact than 20 years back, where often huge weights were added prior to events with little or no testing. Congrats to Ford for really doing their homework and one has to think they are ahead of the curve and the changes will only slow them down a little. If like years past things do calm down ( a little ) after the 24 hours as then things balance out and possible sand bagging would come to light.

Yep, that's one reason they use a NA V8, lot less impact from engine restrictions than the turbo cars. IMSA also does segmented timing and scoring so they can tell if you are slack in a corner or straight.

Is there even a slight consideration the drivers and Kohr team with planning and in race changes were a factor for the dual wins??? I've seen them make it through the pack several times. Hopefully they don't limit the car to the point that it is non competitive. The car might be really jacked up for the next race. If so, I hope the reveval and give some back.
