Engine's good for another 100k and glad you found the culprit with the phaser. Now for some track time.

Getting a late start due to some health problems. Here is the start of solving my fuel starvation problems.

I thought about going full fuel cell, but it to some extent it is still a street car. I hope this enough to solve my problem. From one who lost three races because of fuel starvation, do it GTA! I went full fuel cell , but have friends who did this and wish my stubbornness and thinking really topping off the tank would work had been hammered into my thick skull earlier. Granted the first time it happened I thought I had an electrical failure and the second time it was a combination of another problem, but at three times it was obvious I should have listened to my friends at TMO more intently!!
I think you’re on a right track here and that pump is a nice upgrade. I replaced my fuel pump and “lifetime” filter at high mileage and the filter was really dirty. That said, and having studied the oem design, it has always seemed to me to be physically impossible to truly fuel starve with more than half a tank in the stock saddle tank. Not trying to argue but I’ve never seen how you could run the driver side chamber dry in that situation. And there’s a basket in the stock pump as you probably already know.My problems started appearing with more than a half tank. I believe the "lifetime" fuel filter is starting to plug up at 95,000 miles.
