On an up note, there is video coming of the Saturday race where we fared much better in case anybody wants to see that.....

Damn Sal - that's truly rotten luck. Do you think its the trans or the shifter? That sounded like synchros to me, but hard to tell from the video.

its a chicken or the egg kind of deal...did the shifter destroy the transmission or did the transmission commit suicide so the shifter couldn't work....
Pretty sure its the shifter but can't be certain.

Now you know why I drool over that fancy transmission of yours.....

Laguna Seca / Fastest Lap

It's offensively expensive and not an easy swap, but man does it make a big difference. I do think a 5spd dog box is a decent option. You can pick up used ones in the 5-6k range on ebay and they can be swapped in fairly easy. Just need to swap out the ECU with the automatic control pack since it doesn't require a speed sensor

I’m thinking it’s the shifter. It messed up my new trans magnum XL. Bowler installed a better 2nd 3rd gear and messed with my S1 and it still messed up like yours. It would not shift one day. I like the idea but they are not good for the magnum XL.

Yeah, I think I’m going to have to do a shifter delete.

Watching the video I would bet the shifter is the culprit. Hope the gears aren't damaged. Did you see a decent advantage of a traditional shifter?? I would feel uncomfortable with not being able to go from 4th to 2nd quickly.

I actually love it….I just wish it worked. 😔

On an up note, the new rear brakes worked flawlessly. Gone are the days of smoking one front tire into every heavy braking area. Still no ABS but it’s much more drivable and you can feel the edge of traction and ride that line much more predictably. Also I re vamped the whole setup and the car is way more balanced, turn in and rotation is way better than ever with only a slight reduction in forward bite. I should have done this a long time ago. Now mind you, every change I made I have tried before, but never in this specific combination. Just in time for the end of my career. Funny, the last few races in my stock car I had it dialed in like never before and sold it right after that.
I’m beginning to recognize a pattern here….

Well we changed the clutch master cyl....didn't know we would have to pull the whole pedal box out to do it, but we did.
Monday we'll put the seat back in and bleed the system and see if we got lucky. Stay tuned!
Special thanks to my son Richard for climbing in upside down and doing all the hard stuff. :)

When you said " easy to replace" I was thinking, are we talking about the same thing? Because it was a PITA for me.
