My feed just died!
Yes, they only covered the first 2 cars, but Sal won, well done. All feeds died. Live timing shows Sal took the checker before any other AIX car. Race and coverage was a cluster, but it appears we have TMO success.
Curious what happened when they said dropped 7 spots and lost the lead for a bit.Lookng forward to the in-car video.
I said quite a few swear words. He's been having some bad luck. I'm glad it all worked out.I'm curious as well. Thought about the tranny, and felt sick. That's why I went over to live timing.
Finished P2. Mechanical issue at the start of the 5th and final session kept him from one last shot. Final gap was 0.662! The TT2 winner also won the ST2 class with the same car - really dialed in C6 Vette. So what about @flyhalf ?
I need a list of all the TMO guys real names and classes that raced today so I can go back through the video and watch. I don't want to derail this thread too far though. Maybe a thread that just lists TMO member NASA Championship Participants 2022 and a thread next year at least for the Nationals. I would like to cheer on all of you. They are actually going to be at Pitt Race next year. I'll go out all weekend just to hang out and meet any of you that may decide to travel.Congrats Sal!!!
i lost....the speed sensor on front left. Literally. Lost the bolt holding it. Abs light came on. And huge lock tire in corkscrew. I was pacing good..
But Jake with his vette is another level . Didn't PB (4 tenths off) but wouldn't be enough.
@captdistraction Chris put rain tires on his car and then the track dried out and that didn't work out so well for him.@captdistraction (Chris) was out there in ST2 also...seemed to be struggling with something?
#Coming soonLookng forward to the in-car video.
Congrats Sal! Really enjoyed the weekend - the live stream that NASA put together was a nice touch and allowed everyone not there to be part of the action. I know you, Alessandro, Patrick, Chris & Dave had a bunch of Mustang track rats rooting you on. Way to represent!First of all, THANK YOU EVERYONE for the support, it means a lot to me. It really does.
The reason I was struggling in several places today is because I could not get the car to stay in gear.
It would bounce out of gear and flat refuse to go back in until 6 or 7 cars would pass me. Then I'd have to re pass every one of them and then it would bounce out of gear again. So frustrating.
It also happened on the start, I took the lead right away and then GRIND.....no gear....fell into third place instantly....by turn two I was back in front. Held onto that for most of the race until it bounced out of gear again and @Flash68 zoomed past me with a gaggle of Beemers.....I finally got it back in gear and started to reel him back in lap by lap until he had a mishap and spun and his car refused to restart. So frustrating for him. I felt really bad. After that I just stroked it to the finish keeping the tires under the car and taking no unnecessary chances as there was much carnage and shrapnel strewn all over the track and I wanted no part of that. In the end I survived and took the checkers.
Funny thing on the cooldown lap I was thinking to myself "I wonder where @Grant 302 is at this moment....after all that vitriol, lecturing me about how I don't know what I'm talking about....this now makes 2 consecutive road racing championships, including a national championship and he's nowhere to be found."
So, all I can say is "How do you like me now?" ...lol.
