Ok let's see who can get the Stock HP rating correct. Ford has stated 500+ so we'll start there.

My guess is 550 HP what's yours?

515HP.

It isn't that easy to get that much power out of an NA 5.2L engine and still be streetable.

The real issue is torque, anyway. A flat plane engine makes its HP by RPM, and the lack of rotating weight cuts torque. Take a look at the S2000 for an example of a high revving engine that is a bit of a pain to drive on the street.

My guess is 525 (just over 100 hp per liter)

Hoping for 550, though

Good point on that HP/Liter--I'll bet you're right.

560 rating, 504 at the tires. Ford Engineers are cute with being vague on initial estimates. With the Trinity motor, it was "at least 600", yeah 662 rated, 603 at the tires. GT 350 will supplant the Boss 302 as the best Mustang ever, and this time I won't build one, just buy one and enjoy. How long until the mods start is the question?

Very interesting thread, and lots of good estimates here. But here is my take in consideration of Ford positioning in the market place.

1. 2015 GT 5.0L 302 is 435HP @ 7,000 RPM's
2. 2015 Z/28 7.0L 427 is 505HP @ 7,100 RPM's
3. 2015 Italian 4.5L is 557HP @ 9,000 RPM's

I have read that "the guys over at Mustang6g.com were able to snap a picture of the tachometer. The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 redlines between 8200 and 8300 rpm" per MotorTrend.com

My guess would be:

4. 2016 GT350 5.2L is 537HP @ 8,200 RPM's and 408-418 lbs/ft torque @ 6,800 RPM's. (Has to make more than the Z/28, and should be at least 100HP more than the 5.0 GT. Ok to be less than a Ferrari, because, "it's a Ferrari!" Right?)

I also expect engine Bolt Ons will improve this but not by much, and GT350 mod parts will be a bit more expensive that what we have seen for the S197 Chassis Stang.

It will be very interesting to me to see the planned unit production numbers for the Shelby GT350, and % of total for "R" production, but this guess could be another thread.

Have fun,
302 HP
