Hurricane Cars...?

So I'm sitting here watching the news and lots of stories about the 1 million cars that are now going to be written off.

What's everyone's thoughts on getting a 15-17 GT for a track day build? Assuming the electronics and drivetrain are toast, it seems like one of these would be cheaper than a BIW?

Just thinking out loud....

Thinking the same way. Strip it down and build to your specs. A whole lot more parts will be good than bad. Get it early enough and the engine and trans may be saved.

In all seriousness - the thought of salt water is the only thing keeping me from looking further. Would likely have to blast the body and repaint

Salt water would be a lot worse than flood waters...that's why you're taking a chance when you're going after a flood car...........to me it's not worth the gamble........

There are a lot of seams and 'boxes'/beams in the unibody that are real potential problems down the road. And how are you going to know if it was in salt water?

I could see justifying the risk if you were going to seam weld everything and full cage.

You need to drive your Boss more.. I don't take mine out in rainy weather but if it rains on me I'm ok with it. Just hit 40,000 smiles this week

Mine just turned 30K.. All good weather miles. I now have all season shoes on it, so I may try Sking this winter.....but I doubt it...

12K and on its fourth set of tires. All dry all the time.
I wonder if I have alignment problems

That sounds about right! I have 30K and on my 9th set of tires.
