Hello,

I found this forum about a month ago and was thrilled to finally find a mustang forum that is focused on track events, instead of focusing on taillight upgrades and which 20in rim will not rub. I own a 2012 Mustang GT that I frequently race in either auto-x or track time trial events (NASA and SCCA). I have been doing SCCA auto-x for the past 10 years, and track events since 2012. Since I moved back to Southern Oklahoma I have been attending more track events in the central and south eastern Texas area (Dallas and Houston). I try to do at least one race per month, either auto-x or track day. My car used to be my daily driver; however, since I keep upgrading the car and making it more track worthy, it seems to see less and less time on the road. I'm happy to be a member of this forum, and contributing to it.

Welcome to BMO James! You'll want to put the Mustang Roundup at Motorsports Park Hastings on your calendar. It's the fifth annual this September and it combines road racing, autox, drag racing and a car show. Several members of Ford's management team join us at the event and compete their own cars, including many driven to the event from Detroit. This year will feature the new Shelby GT350 on track that you can experience in person. Ford also puts on an exciting presentation on Mustang developments at the kickoff party Friday night. Here is the link to the event:

Guess I should have posted here sooner but better late than never. I'm retired from aircraft business (General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin here in Fort Worth Tx. Been a Ford man for years, have had several FOX bodies for restoration and fun over the years. Just parted with my 93 Cobra ( all original) and an 84 SVO that I did a complete restoration on to keep me busy after I retired. Also had a 88 LX with suspension mods to keep it civil (sometimes) and Ford Racing GT40X top end. I decided to get something newer and had a 2001 Bullitt for a while until the 4.6 two valve started wearing out at 65k.

I was after a GT350 but too late for 2016 orders and as great as they will be I'm not interested in paying stupid money for dealer mark ups. I was going to look at a 2016 GT with track pack when my son reminded me of the Boss's. Did some research to re educate myself on the details and decided yes that's for me. Looked at several on line and found 2012 Yellow Blaze # 0479 with 9600 miles a few miles away. I added ext 7 yr 100k bumper to bumper warranty and its in my garage. I even managed to track down its original owner and he has the owners kit and will be sending it. I will keep this one all stock with small upgrades like shifter brackets etc but thats about it. Sunshine blue sky day outings and maybe an occasional track day. Look forward to many years of enjoyment with this car and keeping up with whats going on here.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Charles and I live just south of Denver, CO in Castle Rock. I recently purchased a 2013 Boss 302 LS with 1600 miles w the floor mat and car cover option. I do not have a defined plan on what I will do with the car, but I do plan to attend car shows and events in the area regularly. When I am not driving I am a professor of public health at a few of the local colleges/universities. My family has been involved in car collecting and drag racing all of my life, but I do not see much racing being in this Boss' future.

I look forward to following this forum, meeting other members, and am interested in learning more about these amazing cars.

I will be at the 2016 Colorado Concours on June 5th if any other members will be attending

Good morning TMO!

My name is Matt and I am Mustang Corner Carving enthusiast. I have a 2007 Mustang GT that I am turning into a dual usage street and track day car. I have about 5 track days and one 12 hour enduro (WRL 260ZX race car) under my belt, but I am already hooked! I will be going to Bondurant's 4-day race licensing school to further improve my driver skill this summer.

My goal is to have similar lap times as a Boss Laguna Seca with a setup that won't break the bank. I can go into more details of the setup for those who are interested.

I have been looking for more a track orientated mustang website and it appears that I have finally found one.

Cheers!

Matt welcome to TMO and I'm glad you found us. The recent name change from BOSS to TRACKMustangsOnline.com was to reflect the broader appeal of the forum. So the Track name has two meanings: The Track Mustangs Ford is building regardless of how you use it and for all S197 and S550 Mustangs that get driven at a track. I know the Ford engineers that develop our cars enjoy seeing them out on track.

FYI there is a TMO member that has his low mileage take off LS suspension components for sale if you're interested.

Welcome, Matt!

A 'build thread' is a great way to show-off your car and share pics, technical info., etc. Several track oriented cars keep running threads here:

Glad I found this place as well. I have done a bit of reading already. I am putting together a high compression 4.6 3V that will be spun much higher. Most of "lurking" has been done for powertrain cooling (engine, transmission, and rear axle).

Love the two pronged approached meaning for the forum.

Good call, I will put together a build thread when I return from my business trip! I think many of you may find it interesting. Especially that power can be made with an NA 4.6 3V as well as a Coyote. :)

@Road Racer 88 If you are in Phoenix (you mentioned Bondurant), check out www.proautosports.com and www.nasaaz.com for open track time as well as competition. I hope to see you out there sometime!

My home is actually in Michigan. :)

Welcome neighbor. I'm up in Brighton. Can't make the Concours in June but will out at High Plains on the 28th - so if you're not busy come on out. There will be 2-3 other Boss 302s there during the weekend.

Will also be out at the Rocky Mountain Mustang Round-up Father's day weekend. Great town and great event.
