I have the cradle out of the car and I wanted to remove the half shafts to make it easier to work on. Everything that I read or watched shows little effort to get the half shaft out of the diff. For some reason mine will not come out. I did not want to pry to hard before I checked with you guys to see if I am missing something.

This may be a stupid observation but - Everything that I have read or watched shows the half shafts being removed with the cradle in the car so the prying is done at the bottom. Since mine is out of the car I am prying from the top. I don't think this really matters but I just wanted to make sure.

    Any suggestions?

I just installed the GT350 half shafts on my car this weekend. Using a pair of prybars at ~ 3 and 9 oclock at the same time made them release with ease.

One of mine popped very easily. The second one was a real effort. Also You’ll need to replace the seals.

Mine came out with a decent yank. Couldn’t get the pry bar trick to work. Got frustrated and yanked semi hard. Worked well. YMMV

Loosen the half shafts while the subframe is still installed in the car. Otherwise it’s a challenge to remove them. Notice the crow bars. Leverage needed

I pulled so hard the the CV came apart. Had to replace the boot clamp and put it back together.

Don’t yank on the outer spline too hard.

I removed mine by prying against the diff case. Placed the 2 crowbars 90 degrees apart. Requires 2 people w the subframe removed. Would recommend removing the axles w the subframe installed in the car.
