Nice looking machine, must be a deja vu moment, I was just looking at a 69 Merc Cyclone Spoiler on Youtube yesterday.

Nice clean welds - you do that yourself? I've always wanted to be good at welding, I just haven't had the time or patience.
No welding done by the fabricators at Capaldi Racing. I can weld but of the bird sh*t variety, very few things I leave to the pros, this is one of them.

Well its been a little while but through Covid and Winter storms, Capaldi Racing is doing fantastic work on the car and should have it ready for the track very soon.Cage 5.jpgCage6.jpgCage7.jpg

Full session from VIR on 9/20/24. Car is currently 3665 minimum weight with driver, 478 peak, 463 NASA ST2 classing RWHP, 419 Ft/Lbs peak torque. Michelin S9M 30/680-18 tires on Apex 18x11" V5S Forged wheels.

Little brake cooling modification. Replaced the quite capable aluminum plate Vorshlag cooling deflectors with the new AJ Hartman Carbon shaped deflectors. There is a 12 ounce overall weight savings, but the Vorshlag plates are larger. Will be testing the new units at Road Atlanta next weekend. I will bring the V plates just in case there is any noticeable cooling issues but knowing AJ he has studied the airflow in this area and shaped his version to maximize flow direction and volume at lowest drag and size.Brake duct 3.jpgbrake duct 2.jpgbrake duct 1.jpg

Hey Steve. Why do you have one SPL arm and one OEM? Why not get SPL for both?
Ah, that sir is top secret. Study the assembly and you will note some important skunk works stuff developed by Tim at OPMustang for the 21 Car.
