Posting some fun plates I noticed at the 50th Anniversary of the SCCA Solo Nationals as well as a few from a local monthly car show in Omaha. Of course, every photo I took I also mentioned to the owner of the vehicle, " Check out Track Mustangs Online you will probably see a picture of your car there and it is a fun Forum!"

When I got my Miata R registered, the nice lady at the counter pulled the next plate out of the box and it was 1AM-RK1 (I am rookie).

I went with "U Code" to acknowledge the unique VIN code for the Roadrunner engine. I tried for 302SX, but it was denied due to some DOT fool thinking it was an inappropriate reference. I likely will change to a new plate next year since CO now has an all black vanity plates. It will be a great to help me hide the WR tow loop even further.

Not sure if this counts, but my RX7 had this faux plate just to antagonize the other drivers....

Love the RX-7 plate, and having owned 7 of them myself, they often surprised plenty of drivers of more powerful machines.
This was a center seat, mid engine, IRS tube frame car with a 325 hp bridge ported 12A Rotary w/webber carbs and a chopped up RX7 body on it.
Not much RX7 left in there....lol. I was big into rotarys for a long time.

Insane, and though I was at the other end of the spectrum on power, I was in love with rotaries for a long time. Got to see me first Wankel in an NSU Prinz , ripping up the competition in a hillclimb in the Eifel Mountains of Germany. That ungodly roar of that early rotary had a big impact on a young gearhead.

I built a boat load of them back in the day....even had a Pro Rally Car for awhile.
