Fun week last week in Michigan with my Roush buddies. Gingerman is a great track, Run to Hell one day (where Roush did a lot of tuning on their Mustang suspensions, and a wet day at Waterford honoring the passing of a friend. I chose not to go out in the wet, but a buddy got a great shot of my car.

try to follow the exhaust from tip to tail. It could be anything, a rear hanger support for example.
Checked the exhaust. On the side pipes, the claps were extremely close to the lower chassis; floor pan. I removed the side pupes and re-installed with additional spacing. .

As a test, I purchased a race gas tune (101 octane) from AED, logged, sent to Shaun. WOT timing on a 3rd gear run, the motor averaged ~29 degrees and 0 retard. I’m confident your suggestion led me to re-check everything.

Moving forward, E85 coming soon. Wheels, tires, brake pad upgrade, in that order.

Wider is better so not sure you screwed yourself on tires at all. Most of us who track suggest folks go as wide as possible which often means spacers , longer studs ,etc. as that will allow most to get to get to 315 square all around. With 18x10s you may find the 40s will give you a higher top speed at some tracks , and frankly you should be fine. The car looks great and I would not regret the choice. If you get real serious you will need larger wheels ( 18x11s square ) to get bigger meats on the metallic bumblebee.

Appreciate the feedback Bill and Mad Hatter. I’m researching and planning on upgrading the brake setup next. Rotors, pads, fluid and stainless lines. Some folks here in SoCal are telling me I should give Willow Springs a go. Ordered “T” springs and an adjustable panhard bar.

Crappy part, 4 weeks out from a total knee replacement so paying for this stuff to get installed. :D

Probably meaningless in SoCal, but here in the NorthEast I'd console myself with the fact that the taller sidewall means potholes will be absorbed a bit better. I think they look fine, though I'm not really into the "rubber band" tire look, so maybe take my opinion with a grain of salt if you are. I grew up when 15" was a big wheel, and 60-series tires were low-profile. Though I guess a 185/60-13 sidewall is about as tall as a 275/40-18.

I drove the Devils Triangle today in TN. Narrow rough and twisty. Not a drive where you can be aggressive, far from the dragon. If you go make sure the Brushy Mt State prison is open for tours, if you would be interested in this. I chose election day just to get away. Motorcycles also use this like the Dragon, I think that would be very dangerous. All in all I had a good time. It has been a while since I have put some miles on the car due to health reasons and a broken starter. All is fixed and I am feeling better.
