Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Washed and Waxed and got a message from JDM that my headers and cat deletes are on the way.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Getting prepared for my first track day event at Blackhawk Farms Raceway, so we mounted and tested this new custom quick release fire extinguisher mount that I machined.

Works slicker than snot, and as Rick tends to say...even a blind monkey could install it.

Took her to a beautiful show in Antioch California today and saw two other nice bosses there and a nice car with boss-like stripes and the wheels that i was considering. Funny now how small that shaker looks on the 2012!

I received and installed the custom "Boss 302" trunk lid liner from DGCustoms! Now awaiting the painted battery box and master cylinder covers.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Well it’s Sunday Afternoon here in the Azores. Sun shining and just spent the last 5 hours reading nearly every post in this thread, all the while having this little voice telling me to get out to the garage and get it cleaned up for the return of the Boss from the body shop tomorrow.

So, now you’re wondering why is it in the body shop? Well I’m here to tell you that when have that moment in your life that you feel like your back in your high school days will bring the worst nightmare to life.

Simply put, right index finger pushed the Traction Control off, rev’d to 4K, dumped the clutch, wheels started to spin, then a little back end drift to the right, then left and the next thing the rear end a spun around as I hit the brakes and kept sliding, and tagged a rock wall (used here in place of fences and land dividers)
There were ‘spectators’ around but no one was in harm’s way…….just my pride.
Here’s a pic before repair:

BTW….. the night before dropping it off, I noticed the gap between the drivers and passengers side A pillar/top of fender. The gap on the driver’s side is tight approx.1/8” and the passenger is approx..3/8”

I requested them to check the unibody alignment, and I won’t know until tomorrow, but during the drop/off inspection, they said verbally that it is nearly impossible. (I know better.lol) I guess I’ll just wait until I get back to the states and have it checked.

After Repair;

So what have I learned? Do Not touch the TC button! I’m actually thinking about fabbing up some little bright aluminum flat bar to stick to the console trim panel/ to block the button tin order to prevent me from even ‘accidently’ pushing it when I regress to high school.

Oh, the OEM stickers, $109 for the rear quarter and then $223 for the passenger door pieces. I wanted to make sure that the correct stickers were ordered and they decided to fab some up downtown..:)

Ok, now time to get away from this laptop and do some work……

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Yesterday I removed the swirls from my hood decal.
I used a Meguiars MF Finishing pad with 105 on a flex set on 5 two passes then finished with Lake county CCS white pad and 205 set to 5.5. It now looks better then it ever has. Much darker black as well. I topped it with a coat of 22ple.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

With TREMENDOUS help from STEVEESPO most of the 302S suspension is in and the front end aligned beautifully by Steve in the garage. I am still am waiting on the front LCA rear bushing mounts from Capaldi racing which should be in this week. With the lowering of thr car the front campber went from -2.2 degrees to -2.5(R) / -2.6(L). We were only ablke to do a quick test drive on some country roads but she feels very planted and the transition management of the whole chassis feels much better than before. I am still running the LS dampers so the nose will probably still be a little 'dippy' in the brake zone but overall I expect a huge improvement.

Pete,

Did you install the coilovers after looking at the T springs? If so why not the T's?

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

No, went with the P springs. Really don't want to experiment and too many drivers have them and are happy with them. Ieft the stock LS dampers in for now since they are very close to the 18000C's. Not optimum but not too shabby either. Next step will probably be coilovers, but if I go with something like Penske with remote reserviors that won't happen this season.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Took out what ford replaces the stock transmission fluid with from their TSB to fix cold shifting issues. It's poop.
Plugged in 3 bottles of Redline MTL, the red beast is much happier now, I can shift gears again over 4,000 RPM.
I have a pressure pump system with multiple vehicle adapters so it is a 10 min job.
