bnight has the magic formula we have all found --- square means quite a bit better life with a normal rotation procedure. With a Mustang those tiny tires up front just are not up to the dive under braking going into a tight turn.......can you say...

Repave...............sounds like I do have a good reason to wander up there this year and run with a few friends! Repave usually means easy on tires and I do welcome that!

On the front I've run 185 (stock), 220, 275, 450, 500 #/in springs. I've got a pair of 400's in my spring box. Every increase in front spring rate has given a step in performance. If I were tuning this car for Ford, I'd probably have 300's on the...

I'm sure this spreadsheet has been floating around the internet for a long while now but lines up exactly as you said. All so soft.

GAR444, thank you for sharing that chart. :thumbsup:If any of you have done this conversion, please tell me three things:(1) how is it on the street with the 400 #/in springs? 😳 That seems like a huge change. :hmmm:(2) Did this change... (see full post)

Very interesting thanks. So the AJ hartman 400” conversion stiffer than anything on this chart by the looks of it? Do you leave the rest stock or get a sway bar upgrade? Some go softer bar in the rear from reading on here it seems. In anycase... (see full post)

Thanks I recently upgraded the rears with extended lugs as well from OP Mustang. Needed to change the rear rotors out anyway.

So true Bob as my hiatus from the track had me realize that it’s what you can control in the brain versus what’s not in your control around you. Those that know the photo I’m posting know what it’s like to figure this out after some learning.

Barber is very 'chunking' friendly track. 1,2,3,4 is a chunk, 5 is a chunk, 7-8 chunk, 9-10 chunk, 11-12 chunk, 13-14 chunk. Now we're down from 14 corners to 6 'chunks' or complexes. These corners connect in a way which will be the fastest...

I applaud you for driving your Stang in the Winter and in snow. It is a lost art required by most of us old farts where all wheel drive was almost non existent. A set of good snow tires all the way around and it is amazing how well many cars... (see full post)
