I would not go with a 40 aspect ratio but a square set is the way to go. Many of us have run 18x11s, and with a spacer and some longer ARP style studs a nice set of 315/30/18s will give you a stick like glue feel on track.
Not quite today but Sunday-Installed 3.73 gears, T2 Torsen and 1 piece aluminum driveshaft into my 2014 V6 as well as some regular track prep, new pads, rotor scuff and put 1L of brake fluid through the system!

What rear shocks are on your car? The shock at full extension determines the droop, so aftermarket shocks that are a bit longer than OEM might allow the suspension to swing lower causing the interference. To be clear, I'm grasping at straws now.

To my knowledge, there's basically 3 options out there:
1. The original splitter support, pn: M-17A626-MB.

Clearancing it smooth with a file would be a much, much better thing than leaving a notch where a crack could start. And, yes, an engineer. But, I would still return it unless the alignment was truly causing the issue. (see full post)
