How many HPDE sessions d the Continental ECS2 tires last? That will help others provide an answer. And you say your 10th HPDE, but how often do you go?If you are doing a lot of tracking, then you can use more negative camber up front, because... (see full post)
Hi, as I'm entering my 10th HPDE event I start to see some limitations my car has. I have a base GT with some add ons.
One of the issues is that the outer part of the tires is getting eaten more aggressively as my tack skills are improved. I...
I use https://www.autocrossdigits.com/ (know the owner personally) - the right choice for you might be low tack removable vinyl numbers (see full post)
They will peel right off but they are not reusable. I don’t drive my car on the streets much. I also don’t care if I have numbers on my car. It’s a calling sign to other track rats (see full post)
I just switched to TrackPlacks earlier this year when I switched numbers. I put mine on this past February and they still look great through ~10 track days but I have not removed them and re-applied them. They are a high quality number imo. (see full post)
Hi wdrlaw & BackInBlack, on my ‘08 I’m about to try installing a Momo hub (non quick release) & Momo protipo wheel. Were you able to keep a functional horn button, and turn off the airbag light? This Momo hub kit from AM has this wiring (pic... (see full post)
Neat. Those look very nice. I have also never seen or heard of that source. So if I spend the 65-75 bucks, how long will they last, approximately, in your experience? (see full post)
5 years?Do yours stay on full time? I ask because mine is mainly a street car, not mainly a track car. These numbers have to come off when I am finished with HPDE, which was the original attraction to magnetic. Do yours come off? Can they... (see full post)
In simplest terms you are adjusting the ratio of roll stiffness of the front to rear. This has the effect of changing which end has more/less grip. Outer end holes have greater leverage to twist the bar, "softer bar setting", as you move the... (see full post)
Oh it's definitely not a fix. But sometimes you just have to say F it. If it shuts it up till you can find a permanent solution then its still a win. It sucks when you are the poor bunny that seems to find the anomaly. Everyone says its the other... (see full post)
I used an impact gun to tighten strut nuts as per Vorshlag’s instructions. I guess that I could try putting some rubber on the first coil at the contact point. Seems like a band aid for the problem, but would eliminate the plates as you say. I... (see full post)
Good morning all. quick sway bar question.
Last week I replaced the stock sway bar end links with adjustable Kenny Brown units. I did that because the stock units were noisy over bumps. With 20K miles I assumed the stock units gave out due to...
It's because my car started whining after I took it to the drag strip. No wheel hop, just hard launches - well...as hard as a stock 6R80 will allow. (see full post)
As @biggsy mentioned earlier, there are a few threads on M6G about clunks after installing Vorshlag plates.
The pertinent point usually has been the top nut.
In the interest of eliminating every scenario, did you do it up by hand or rattle gun... (see full post)
to save you pulling it apart you could cable tie some rubber over the coil that shows sign of contact and see if that shuts up the noise. At least then its confirmed thats the noise you were hearing. (see full post)
