I believe I mentioned this before, but for people like me who are just getting into the car scene, its remarkably frustrating. This summer and next I was planning on really investing some of my hard earned part-time job money into my car, but it seems I may not be able to get the performance mods before the car world comes crashing down. It really just makes me a little sick, and also frustrated because I feel so powerless.

Also, you know what a struggling economy needs? 1st MORE LOCKDOWNS!! Yes, great idea. Shut everything down so MORE people lose their livelihoods and everything they have worked for...morons those people are. 2nd taking away BILLIONS in market stimulation. Car people spend astronomical amounts of money, but hey! Forget them, we gotta just click delete on those darn racecars, ignoring the fact that ships are the leading cause of pollution.

Oh and one more thing. If only there was something that used CO2, emitted O2, and maybe, just maybe, was made of wood? Maybe if we had some of those we would be in a better place, but what do I know? I'm just an unimportant (in the government's eye) aspiring racer that wants to meet new people and make great memories doing something I enjoy...how dare I

My wife has planted over 200 trees, bushes and shrubs on our property. Where is my Oxygen credit(s)? If carbon to oxygen parity is the goal, where is the tax on city folks who maybe have a single potted plant?? I forgot, they vote differently than I do. Strange.

I signed. However i dont think rpm will help. At all.
Yes "real " race cars will be saved.
But
90% of us have street legal cars. Those people track the car twice a month.
Those people will not be saved by the RPM act.
I think we need to step forward and do somenthing different.
I just dont think that the world is going in this direction of maintaining high emission cars going around without cats or with big tunes.
Maybe I'm wrong. But i guess u see the point.

Here's the reply I got from my congressman (who was caught sleeping with a Chinese spy but is somehow still in a member of the house intelligence community)

Dear Mr. molinare,

Thank you for contacting me to express your support for H.R. 5434, the Recognizing Protections of Motorsports (RPM) Act of 2019. I always appreciate hearing from my constituents, and I am glad to receive your input on this important issue.
As you may know, H.R. 5434 would clarify that it is legal to make emissions-related changes to a street vehicle (cars, trucks, and motorcycles) for the purpose of converting it to be used exclusively in motorsport competitions on a racetrack. It also establishes that it is legal to produce, market, and install racing equipment. The RPM Act would reverse the Environmental Protection Agency’s interpretation that converted vehicles, including those used in motorsport competitions, must remain emissions-compliant under the Clean Air Act.
More broadly, I believe we must recognize economic issues regarding land use and remember the millions who enjoy outdoor recreational pursuits every year. At the same time, these interests must always be balanced against the need to protect wildlife and our natural surroundings.
Again, I want to thank you for taking the time to share your views, and I certainly will keep them in mind. Visit my website or contact my East Bay office at (510) 370-3322 if we can be of service in any way. this little bit of BS right here, is only recent, the EPA has NEVER viewed race cars as being in their wheelhouse. some faceless douchecanoe has just decided that about 6 months ago.

With regards to him nailing the Chinese spy, wasn't Barbara Boxer's chauffer for over 30 years also a chicomm spy?

What does it mean? Is all blocked?
Or is just a tentative to stop EPA.?
The RPM act is designed to allow street cars to be made into race cars, the EPA wants to keep ANY street car from being turned into a race car under .. what they call "new found authority" which is f-ing bull-t, since the clean air act is 50 years old. It's just an expansion of government which they are trying to push through without legislative approval because the feds know they don't have the votes. It's backdoor legislation, and maybe even illegal, both SEMA and PRI are suing them right now. The RPM act has to pass both houses of government and be signed into law by the president to become active. It has a long way to go before that happens, and even then I doubt sleepy Joe will sign it. The fact that it's introduced, however, demonstrates that people are not going to play nice with the EPA and their push for power.

That was what i didn't get it
The article said
This act " permanently blocks the attempts of Epa.
It looks like thanks to this all the tentatives of EPA aren't going anywhere. While in reality this act is just the first step of a very long path.
Or is the EPA in standby waiting to see if this act becomes law?

They are definitely not on standby. They are continuing on as if their interpretation of the law is correct. Until this bill gets signed into law they will keep raiding and fining shops who sell products that allow the customer to modify/bypass the car's emissions systems - even if it's for a dedicated race car.

the expansion of government never stops, unelected bureaucrats that want to expand their power base are always looking for a way, usually avoiding the representative methods in the constitution. This is the case here, some hack in the federal government, behind closed doors is pushing the green agenda with the approval of the administration.
elections have consequences..
