Some progress and wrap up photos from our three day installation of a fresh engine in @biggsy car. Warren was a great guest and a very helpful mechanic making his car come back from a two year layoff. Still has to figure out getting that PMAS to fit and to complete his oil cooler install. But he will be in good hand with Adam at Revolution Auto in his home State of MD to get the tune completed and Dyno runs done. Oh and the car got its first bath in what seemed like 2 years as well. Too nice of a car to be that dirty.🤞IMG_2567.jpegIMG_2568.jpegIMG_2570.jpegIMG_2572.jpegIMG_2573.jpegIMG_2574.jpegIMG_2576.jpegIMG_1114.jpegIMG_1115.jpegIMG_1116.jpegIMG_2578.jpegIMG_2579.jpegIMG_2568.jpegIMG_2570.jpegIMG_2572.jpegIMG_2573.jpegIMG_2574.jpegIMG_2576.jpegIMG_1114.jpegIMG_1115.jpegIMG_1116.jpegIMG_2578.jpegIMG_2579.jpeg

And now the big dog gets to eat. Another swap for the 21. Freshly done Coyote with a revised set of GSC-Power Division Alpha 2 road race minded cams. Current set of A1 cams proved to be a bit too peaky and lost too much torque from 4500-5500 rpm versus the OE cams. So since we need a fresh clutch for the MCA event at Road Atlanta in 3 weeks I decided to go all in and get the swap done. Gotta thank @EF1 for volunteering to come help Saturday and to @OPMustang Tim , the guys at RPG in Maryville TN and Ken Osborne of OZ Tuning for their continued support and enjoyment of the progress of the 21 Car. Start up video of the newish GSC-Power Division Alpha V2 cammed engine in the 21 Car. The comment at the beginning refers to the fact that leaving the throttle body connector off will make you doubt you reason for living. Some more work to install the exhaust and put the fluid in the transmission and she will be ready to head to the dyno at Red's Performance Garage in Maryville TN to let Ken Osborne work his magic. Hope to see some of you at Road Atlanta for the MCA Anniversary event August 28-30.

Doing some prep for the fall season starting with this weekends trip to the MCA event at Road Atlanta and made some changes. After three seasons prepping and watching Dark Horse R race cars with similar power, similar weight and now the same damper package, I decided to bring the aero package more in line. So back on goes the 350R wing. And with that a bit of graphics update. Headed to the dyno early tomorrow morning to dial in the GSC cams and then straight to Road Atlanta. The following weekend I am working with Paolo Salvatore on his #84 DHR at COTA for the Mustang Challenge finale, followed by a return trip to Watkins Glen September 29-October 1 and then down to Daytona October 8-9. After a bit of a break, testing for the 58 and 88 Challenge cars will resume at Sebring in December. Curious about your wing swap. Why the swap back to GT350R? when you had what i assume was a more downforce capable wing on it already.
I have no effective aero as the copy GT350R wing i have is so damn flexible and small in comparison to a genuine one i'm assuming its just looking pretty back there compared to no spoiler/wing. I was offered a GT500 Code Red wing that will be probably the cheapest actual effective wing for my car in the country as i think they have realised they won't ever sell it to a member of the public here. Also means more work finding a splitter to do some balancing. Kinda the reason for my question about your swap. I have no experience with cars using actual aero to feel the difference. Mechanical grip all the way.
Honestly like the look of the GT350R factory wing but none of the copies seem to come close to the actual size and proper shape of the factory version.

So as many know, I am Crew/Car Chief on two Dark Horse R Mustang Challenge teams, and seeing the performance that those cars have (GT4 like lap times/same track/same weekend) and the top speed deltas between those cars and mine when power levels/gearing and tires are similar if not identical, I decide it was time to simplify and drive a low DF package. Cause....you never know what might happen in the near future. The decklid is my Anderson Composites carbon and with the R wing replacing the APR setup, there is a 20 lbs + weight savings. I also like the aesthetics, never a big fan of crazy wings and over size splitters. Are the effective, absolutely, but there is more than one way to skin a cat.

The anderson code red wing is pretty effective, not wide but it has a lot of chord. We have run them on gt500's without any additional front aero and it works fine. I ran a gurney on mine and it required a splitter to balance - like in the avatar pic.
