Tstorms moved thru late afternoon yesterday, with over an inch of rain. Lawn was just starting to dry up which meant no more mowing for a while. Late summer "weed" grass will start taking over now. Just think, when I moved here 34 yrs ago I actually fertilized and watered the lawn...what the heck was I thinking????

Getting ready to put the corned beef in the the pot to simmer for a few hrs. Rain last nite ushered in humidity that will be here all next week along with the threat of showers and storms....so much for the lawn drying out. Hon got watermelon #7 yesterday, so cutting that up will also be on my agenda. NASCAR race in New Hampshire today...not a big fan of that track........

Beautiful day today with sun and temps around 85. Dismal forecast all week but today proved them wrong. We'll pay for this tomorrow, I'm sure, with heavy rain moving in, Still working on my Corned Beef, cabbage and potatoes. With Son not here, this dinner may last longer than I expected.

Thanks Tyme, Something to consider. This corned beef's been in the freezer since I got it on sale last St Patty's day. It was calling my name.............I have an Easter leg of lamb in said freezer that also is starting to get restless............

When dealing with leg of lamb, please make sure when you start hacking at the meat, you got the right leg.

New addition to Son's "family" that he got last weekend. Now he has two Pit bulls. The light colored one is his, named "Peanut" The darker one is Peanut's brother named Rocky, who lives two doors down at Son's condo complex. They were born June 15th.

Been enjoying mine all summer long! Doubled up on the Romas a couple of weeks ago. I should have enough to can/bottle some up for the fall/winter.

Tomato crop is a lot less than the first wave in past years, so far. We've had more cloudy, rainy days than nice sunny days this year. I think that has a lot to do with it.Still have lots of green tomatoes ready to ripen once the weather cooperates. Only in the low 70's today and raining.

Yeah, need that sun and less water to ripen and sweeten them up! Not hard to come by around here.
