I would make them show you the exact infraction written in the rule book. “Show me where it says I can’t do that”.

I know where it is, I've seen it, some legalese about the overtaking car forcing the front car to alter it's line to avoid contact, it's a BS rule in most cases, no one would ever get to pass, imagine that on a dirt track.. lol

Yes. Coming from oval track myself I’m amused by the passing rules for road racing, where a driver can cross 30 feet of empty tarmac and slam into another car and then blame it on him for being there. Where I come from if there is space and you can get there it’s yours. If somebody comes into your space and hits you, its their fault. Doesn’t matter where you are on the track. We don’t have acceptable and unacceptable passing zones. It’s a race track, the whole thing is a passing zone. As long as you are not making contact or forcing another car off the track, you should be good to go.

You sound like me, I have passed two wheels in the dirt when the opening was there and Mr. Iownthewholetrack was blocking away! Usually filling ones mirrors wakes folks up, but this was such a simple pass the only problem was a complete lack of situational awareness............one of the very most important things we always Instruct about for the new Time Trailer , W2W racer, and even HPDE drivers.

Well good news!! We are firing the track commissioner and annulling his findings.. He made so many mistakes in the after race report that it became unworkable, not even sure if he was watching the race we were in.... Get my points, but no pic with the girls.

the other thing is that I had MEGA timing lag, so either I had a knock fromm bad fuel, or false knock...

Ta Da....

looks like I was low on power at least till the knock went away at higher revs....... poor GT4's ;)... maybe they should look for engine swaps? LS3 Cayman? where is @Fair when you want him?
Getting the tranny out and changing the carbon syncros. Fingers crossed!!

That header tube banging on the starter could well be the culprit.

And congrats on getting your points back...that was a really bad call.

................thank goodness Dearborn stopped building the Mercury and Mad just got a lighter dose of Mustang poisoning!
It has still taken him down the " rabbit hole " though.

Well the local grumpy none car people have shut our track main track due to noise. So instead of a race we are having a sound measurement day tomorrow. With new sensores placed around the track, It looks like it will be pretty tough to pass so might have to do all kinds of exhaust changes before june. Now they want under 90db at max rpm in the sound cabin before being allowed on the track.

Mean time the car is getting new oil lines, filter adapter and remote filter adapter. My old one was ansi 10 from MMR and due to @Fabman tips, am going from 5/8" interior lines to 3/4". So out with MMR and in with a Moroso filter base and the Ansi 12 ford performance remote filter adapter... The thicker lines are proving to be a bit more work then we thought but they are just about done.

Tomorrow the car is going for sound and after that, it will finally be set to go to the Dyno. Will be very curios to see how it does.

Shaun at AED wanted to see engine temps down to 220 max. Am at 240 so will try with out the grill and try to box the rad and setrab oil cooler. Also need to finally make a little wing thingy to get my hood grill to work a little better. Due to the collapse in world wide shipping, cant find any black pvc angles anymore. Looks like I found a reason to get a 3D printer.

Gear box is fixed, sort of... all forward gears work well but reverse is nearly impossible once the trany gets warm.... Not sure what it could be. Autoblip is installed but have a minor wiring issue to sort out. Maybe that will help me out at the track.... will see.

As a treat, I got the car enrolled at a time trail event at a smaller track in mid May. Its a much smaller track so will be thinking about at least a 5 degree aoa for the wing, maybe even 10 degrees since the top speed is only 118mph at this 1mile long track.
