Love the fab work on your car. That boxed in radiator set up has to work great! Im sure with that, and this oil cooler set up you should never have a cooling problem. Hope all your oiling problems are fixed with the diff oil pump you put on. Fingers crossed. Do u have AC in your garage? If you don't I'm sure you have dropped 10lbs of water weight just working on your car this summer.

The new garage is insulated (and 800sqft x 11' tall, thanks Lennar Homes for acknowledging features car guys want), but I haven't installed a A/C. I'll put a small portable unit in, one with two outlets. The garage has a pair of vents near the waterheater setup for just that use. Finished the flooring a couple weeks ago and its just fantastic to work in there.

That said, I've sweat my ass off. Its the humid part of summer, and I can only get a couple hours in a day of work on the car. I'm a bit cash strapped, but I really am trying to get AC in there sooner than later to help finish this thing up.

My buddy put foam inserts on the backside of his garage door along with a small wall mounted ac unit(.low buck affair )Gets the temps do able in there. Im going to give it a try. I have a garage carport conversion that has vented bricks on one of the sides that ill have to address as well. Wish i had a 3 car garage but i don't. Fingers crossed for good news on your front with the oil/noise situation in days to come.

Those vents near the water heater are for fresh air intake due to combustible fumes. Check with a licensed HVAC or plumber before you install A/C. Your best choice is to install a split system. Which can provide AC and heat if required.

I didn't mean to imply covering them up, but expanding upon the already cut and prepped areas. Nice time saver having the vents setup for the gas water heater. I was under the impression mini-splits was a 3-5k deal?

It may be helpful to check building codes regarding the location of open flames in an area where cars are stored. It can be done. Different areas have different standards. Most likely you will need to raise the fire section of the heater 1-3 feet off the floor. Gasoline being heavy.

Low demand areas like a work shop can benefit by installing an on demand water heater for the shop sink. The heaters are only slightly larger than a shoe box.

Which floor covering did you use? I have a three car garage and 1200 soft shop which need floor paint.

I mean the water heater is already installed on a ped 2' off the ground, I'll certainly have someone check it out and give advice, but I'll have to balance comfort in garage during summer with racing budget costs (still have a trailer to track down).

The flooring is Westcoat EC Thinfilm. Looks incredible. http://www.westcoat.com/thin-film-p-4.html (however, the antislip additive is something I'd use 1/4 of what they call for). I did a color primer coat, color coat with chips on top, and clear top coat (with antislip). We filled and leveled the "joint" lines in the floor and I ended up painting the garage in a satin light gray.

The lines on the floor are dust from when I was rolling cabinets back in.

VERY nice.... :D

Money well spent Chris. I wish i can say my garage looks that good! With my Sn-95 BIW racer, the Boss,a spare U motor, 2 motorcycles, and all the "stuff" goes with all these toys I'm rather maxed for space in my two car garage. Oh well, one day ill upgrade to a 3 car garage and all my garage issues will be solved.

Fired it up, couple little bugs to work out. Took a few minutes of operation to really sound like oil was circulating well on the top end (not completely unusual given being apart for so long). Need to fix a oil temp sender that's not responding but otherwise it runs and there's no leaks in all the new plumbing

Nice! Happy to hear the positive news on the engine.

Nice work on the garage floor too!

Took it out for a drive today, ran it for about a half hour.

Good news: Oil was 45psi cold, 35 psi hot on idle (sometimes dipping down to 25), and 65-80 PSI during operation/rev. Numbers taken after the cooler, but I'm pretty happy. Drove it around for a half hour, no noises that shouldn't be there (the drivetrain is super noisy but its all solidly mounted). The top end has quieted down a lot, especially having the car on the ground and hood closed. So I think we've solved the mystery. I don't hear the noises/moan/chain noise whatsoever so hopefully a bullet dodged.

Just have to fix a problem with a oil cooler plate leaking (the sandwich plate's o-ring is done). May just have to replace the whole unit and get a new o-ring for it once its spare. Also having some battery charging issues with my BT battery (lithium polymer), but I knew going in that it was going to be finicky. Just an alignment, final check, fill up with 100 and retune. From there, I just need to go to track, put on track pads, track wheels and party. October 1st is looking very realistic now.
