off topic, but I'm surprised the event/safety coordinators allowed you to run with your windows up and AC going. The only time I've ever been allowed to run with windows up was with heavy rain - otherwise, if you want to cool off they told you to go faster!

I know I'm late to the party here, but one of the things that I always advocate for is to use the factory to develop your parts, this was true back in the Pirelli World Challenge days and the S197 platform, the rule book, and the way Ford responded by developing those parts, pretty much took the RnD out of everything, including things like aero loading/balance..you just copied what the factory did. I would still recommend this for the S550 n S650 cars. The GT4 cars really are production cars and have been in a tunnel, so if you're looking for ideas, just copy them.

Overall agree, which is part of why the GTD hood appealed to me.

This was a Hooked On Driving event. Not sure about the rest of the country, but at least for the midwest region they allow windows up.

Turn signals. You work them just like a point by, signal on the side you want the car to pass on.

It's especially nice if you have an instructor in the car since you can more easily hear each other without coms, and it makes the video quality higher. I posted a video of my fastest lap time (windows down) in my lap time thread for 1:57.490.

LOL, that would take some getting used to by me if I was the overtaking car. Oh, no! He just indicated that he is changing lanes into me on the side on which I am passing him!

For me it isn't difficult having been on both the giving and receiving end of turn signal point-bys. It's covered in the drivers meeting, and if you think about it, a normal point-by is using hand turn signals in the same opposite manner. I haven't heard any complaints, although I don't know what percentage of people were going with the windows up. Probably higher than normal given the temps.

I imagine most of the rest of my sessions this year will have windows open, unless it's raining.
