How much to lower car for the street?

I am too slow at this and I make too many mistakes....
I'm a lot better with the cars than I am with the internet.
No problem! I'm better at computers than cars. That's why I rely on you bad asses! :)

Talking about this makes me think this kit might have been a good option for me. I need some bigger wheels so I don't scrape if I go lower though. I just got some new Koni's so it's too rich for me now. :p They were an upgrade over my busted Tokico's. Stock Boss spring rates are kinda lacking. I'll probably end up trying my luck with just a spring set eventually.

Still around. Best price found on quick search.
I quit buying from Levittown. They do not stock most of what they sell. You do know it is back ordered or unavailable until after irder it. On oem Ford parts my local dealer usually beats their price with shipping and he makes sure it is in stock somewhere and when it us expected to come in.
Ford Racing parts come from Capaldi for the same reasons. Sandy is good about checking availability for me before taking my money.

Doesn't help that I was doing this on my iphone at the welding bench between welding ops....
I hate searching on the phone, I keep losing track of the pages and can't always copy the link etc...always have to go back and make corrections to my post like 20 times ....
I'm a good old desktop Google Chrome guy, where I can track all the tabs....most of the time. lol.

FWIW, the really really fast S197s ran marshmallows for spring rates.
Also you can probably source the Ford parts individually, or..suggestion #2,buy the kit from Ricky at Cortex

Yeah, but you don't mean stock level marshmallow -- you mean something like 600/350? Like the 302S?

Cortex kits look nice. If they're good enough for @Mad Hatter they're more than enough for me. I'll probably go with something softer for now though, like the FRPP's or some Eibach's.

Yes, Ditto on the comments about a certain dealership showing availability and not having parts. Ten months is ridiculous to wait and add to that they don’t care.

Have you heard much about SR or BC coilovers?

Okay here's the deal....I found many places online that claim to have it....several let me put it in my shopping cart with no warning.

I will be like the fifth to confirm that you need to be careful with the stock status shown by some webshops and dealerships. Also reputable dealerships.

I was on the hunt for something completely different (motorcycle related, not Mustang related). Several of the go-to places said ”in stock”, so I picked a reputable seller, ordered the item and paid. Only to find out it was not in stock. Not at this particular seller, not with any other seller and not at the manufacturer’s…

Turns out all sellers were referring to the same stock status at the manufacturer’s and this stock status had not been updated for six months…So the initial impression was there are hundreds of those in stock all over the world. In fact there were none…

Lesson learnt - it’s always a good idea to call or e-mail a seller for confirmation.

Had the exact same experience multiple times with various vendors. Now if I need something, I call and verify that they have it in hand.

What burns me up is that they'll charge your card for payment when you buy the item, but I'm pretty sure they get invoiced by the supplier only when the item is shipped, so they earn interest on your money the whole time the item is on backorder. To me, that's theft of the interest I should be earning, but I'm no lawyer. I'm sure they have lawyers that created their "terms of sale" on checkout to protect them. But it's still pretty sleazy. I've heard stories of folks here being out $1K or more for many months with no true ship date in sight and getting a continual runaround from the vendor. It's completely unacceptable to have that much money tied up with nothing to show for it.

I wouldn't mind paying a "placeholder" deposit like 10%, especially on high-dollar items, but the vendor should only take full payment when the item is shipped, whether it's directly from the vendor, or drop-shipped from the manufacturer or an intermediate distributor.

Rant over.

That is exactly why I will not be doing business with this outfit in the future. I, too, would not mind being charged a holder, but to take my money for ten months seems criminal to me as well.

After all my gear was stolen I had to quickly order all new stuff to make the next race.....the fire suit never came. Aparently every sparco dealer was also claiming the same suit that wasn't available.
I called Sparco and there were none left anywhere. Killed my racing season and now I have all the other stuff I bought that I'll never use since this was going to be my last season.
Not much of a market for brand new custom molded ear buds that only fit me.
