The track is awesome. I plan to run there in mid-Dec with ProAutoSports.

Just curious are you running long tubes? Wondering what the sound difference between a GT500 and a Boss with stock mufflers will be.

AMP is a fun track but I've only been a passenger on it to this point

No long tubes on mine...just side pipes added to stock exhaust (sounds awesome on the street). But I cap the side pipes before AMP.

You may be OK with catted LTH, but most guys with offroad pipes don't make it past the sound check. Raspy axle backs (Roush), don't make it either.

Ben--thank you for the photos, this is basically my plan w/ a set of stock B302 mufflers and the diverter pipes. Glad to hear they can get very quiet.

Here's my record setting lap in TTU at WGI at the NASA East Coast Championships. This time was the second fastest lap of the whole weekend, behind a Norma Prototype driven by Brian Frisselle, a professional driver. My lap time was a 1:48.6XX with more to spare.

Also, to add another name to the WGI list, my dad (74mach) did a 1:57.4 in his '65 Mustang

Brian:

Nice run and very nice paddle shifting. You actually make it look easy with that line and corner exit speeds.

Watkins Glen is a difficult track to run fast, (like driving a slot car in some sections).

Again nice vid of your record setting run at the Glen.

PS: if you haven't already, please start a new Thread and dedicate it to your car, it's build and your racing activities. Also some of your thoughts on being a skilled and successful Race Car Driver. Please post more track vids of you chewing through traffic on your way to the finish line.

That 180+mph at the end of the "top" straight is nuts.

Congrats to you and your dad, looked like a productive weekend out there, save for the radiator puncture :-/

Dropped a little time @ Motorsports Ranch Cresson on the 1.3 circuit. Now 68.8 seconds. Beautiful day, was sunny and 77 degrees for this:

Nice, are you racing there this weekend?

No, they were doing an enduro there, where they ran the east, outer, and full configurations, so there was no licensing or anything going on. Also Mckeevers son, and Smiths son were finishing up their full NASA license requirements races in the cars, and several of the staff were racing the cars on Sunday. Will definitely be going back though to finish up licensing.

Hi all. This is a great thread! Wish I'd found it sooner. I had a PB time at Summit Point main the other day. 1:28.59.

2014 GT TP | ST XTAs, Strano F/R bars, 18x10 Team Dynamics w/275/35 RE-11s, Hawk Street/Race pads (crap), Blowfish ducting, FRP axlebacks, stock motor.

I'm relatively new to this but will attempt to link the video. Cheers - Tim

Thunderhill Raceway - 3 Mile Course w/Cyclone

Completely stock 2016 Shelby GT350, Track Package. Still on factory MPSS tires. Tires had 4000 miles, 1 track day at Sonoma and 1 autocross before this. It was my first time at Thunderhill and I ran a 2:09.7 before the rain started coming down.
