Re: Track Time

Nice driving. When is your car getting the 302S treatment? ;)

Re: Track Time

i don't want to hear about withdrawls, i haven't been on track since Aug. due to money issues. Now that i am in a better spot, i should be able to hit some places soon, looking like June at Waterford hills. Just have to get everything back on track (tires, brakes, windshield, etc.).

Re: Track Time

Improved my time at Motorsport Ranch Cresson 1.7 CCW from a 1:31.51 to a 1:29.79 last week. I'm pretty happy with it, especially since I slow down at the end of the lap to let a porsche go by. This would have been a respectable time at the last club trials...

Re: Track Time

Video with my quickest lap at LRP to date. Not breaking any records or anything, but I was pleased. 2nd lap in this video.

And a video from another session where I caught up with Steve Espo at around 8 minutes in, and another forum member Tod with a 2014 GT TP (nearly identical car to mine) at around 1 minute in. Unfortunately my OBDII interface froze up, so the only info recorded was lap times... good driving by Steve and Tod too!

Oh and my favorite pic from the day (Vette hunting):attachment.jpg

Re: Track Time

I was at Hallett yesterday for a private track day with Tulsa's version of "Coffee and Cars." Overall it was a great day and I got to coach a new guy in a GTR, which is such an awesome car! I ran a new fast time in the morning of 1:25.2 CCW and the afternoon sessions felt even faster but my transponder didn't pick up any lap times after lunch. Bummer :-[ I had a few offs during the day as I was pushing the car pretty hard to set a new fast time for myself. I went off in turn 6 and caught my bumper on something. They had to shut down the track for 30 minutes or so to clean up the mess of dirt I left behind. Luckily it was just cosmetic damage and we zip tied the bumper back on and ran the rest of the day. Damage shown below...

I was having technical difficulties with my gopro and only managed to get one session on video. Here is a short video clip from session 2. I drop a huge cloud of smoke at the end of the video as I spin in turn 4 (different spin than what resulted in the damage shown above). The new track surface still feels slick to me...

A couple videos from a private track day at Hallett yesterday

Fly-by coming out of the biznitch

Dash popping off

Tank slapper coming out of the biznitch. Inputs weren't quick enough to save it. Terrible camera angle but you get the idea :)

Re: Track Time

Logan,
Hallett looks like a nice course--a BMW instructor I've driven with really likes it. Might have to try and make it there some day.

We usually over-correct and end up making the situation worse--did that at BIR a year ago and spun the car, and did some serious hay mowing at the MPH roundup last year too from over-correcting.

It's a great track, Wayne, especially since they resurfaced it earlier this year. Technical, nice elevation change, and plenty of runoff.

I remember seeing all the dirt in your car after your off at MPH last year :p
