neema said:I was in the same boat (comparing MCS and JRi/cortex dampers). Once you spec some springs and camber plates for the MCS dampers (or omit some parts from Cortex's package), there in the same price range. Keep that in mind if you're interested in getting more room from the front Cortex struts. I prefer the adjustment dials and rear shock's stock upper mounting style of the MCS dampers though. You can never have it all
ArizonaBOSS said:I'm more interested in the double-adjustability that the MCS dampers offer for that price.
To get the DA JRis you're in the 4600 range w/ Cortex, plus another $100 if you want the front offset struts. If I'm spending that much money on a set of dampers now we're in Multimatic 3-way territory for another couple hundo, and less if you can find em used--they're out there.
neema said:I think there was a $500 difference when I tried to make them to equivalent packages. That, to me, was the value in the offset strut. I couldn't say if it was "worth it," but it's spacious in there now (hence the 11.5" front wheels to be).

What's the plan for the red one, now that you have a 302R?
It's definitely not, lol!steveespo said:Hope its not one of the Barber Motorsports Park wrecks from a month ago. Probably not, good luck with it.

As far as my Red Boss, I'm goin to 'finish it' as planned. Going with full Cortex suspension and JRI coil overs. Also upgrading front brembos to the Pro Series calipers (as We got two sets with the 302R).
We are looking for a wrecked boss 302 to transfer all body fasteners, rear end, engine, dash, steering column, and basic wiring harnesses from. We will buy a new Tremec for it, driveshaft, new suspension (still deciding.. Another reason I want to try out Cortex's on my Boss first), and the 302R specific components(ecu, steering rack, brake booster, etc). Not going to be a cheap build but hope to finish it off for 10-20k less than a showroom 302S with many upgrades.
I agree. We are looking for a wrecked 12-13 GT as well.steveespo said:Think about a GT wreck for the small parts and sell the engine and trans if useable, hen get an Aluminator Shortblock and Boss heads. The Aluminator bottom end and pistons are so much better than the Boss. Buying a Boss salvage will always be a premium over a GT or V6 car that won't make it worth it financially.
Think of how many Boss specific parts you would be buying that you won't be using, springs, shocks, bars, stock grille, Brembos and as far as the engine goes, if it's a salvage then you are gambling on what went on with the engine before the wreck.
Just my HO

I'm also very interested in your opinion on the CorteX/JRi's.
