Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Opened the garage to find my front left tire was down. Small #4 finish size nail was the culprit.
Took to the tire shop for repair only to be told the puncture is a little too close to the side wall to be fixed.
It is right on the edge but liability being what it is today they won't even plug it to get me through winter hibernation. I may plug it myself.
I was planning mid-summer next near since there's still plenty of tread left.
Quoted $1,421 for 4 Michelin PSS 265/40 front & 295/35 rear. Mounted and balanced (302S wheels).

Put the stock wheels back on tonite.
Also removed the PFC 08 front pads and installed PFC Z-rated pads--which the company claims are compatible with each other, so no need to swap rotors from track to street and back.
Heck, haven't even driven the Boss since putting her in the garage after the September MPH Mustang Roundup. :-[

My son and I spent 30 minutes trying to sync my android with the car--ugh, it won't find the music or contact list. May delete it and start over, or head to Ford with a sad face and see if they will help w/o charging me.

If you do decide to make the repair, have a patch/plug installed. do not just plug it. Tire will flex to much.

Try youtube. Or, if you can find the salesman that sold you the Boss he might be willing to sneak you through. They want to be on your good side. First ask if he has a business card :) Hopefully he remembers you and asks about the Boss and you can go "oh I came in for oil and to look at the 2015 but my Android won't sync..." And now you have his undivided attention:)

Mine once hooked me up and got me a sticker for my Ranger even though it failed tech on a ball joint. They just made me promise to fix and I did.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Had a bit of play in my front right wheel. I'm using the 302S Front LCA's with the extended ball joint. Disassembled the ball joint and found wear on the contact point to the spindle:

Other side:

Bolt was torqued to spec.

Measured shaft diameter and it was 0.05 mm smaller than new replacement:

Replacement needed more effort to install, but has eliminated play. Guess there was a tolerance issue on the original........

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Steve,
Yes the ball is still tight in the socket. In fact it's adjustable, even if it does wear, which the stock ones are not.

The issue was that the shaft diameter was under spec and too loose a fit in the spindle.

Here's some shots from below the LCA, showing the install:

Gt 500 axle backs. '12 Gt 500 over the axle pipes (no resonators). No side pipe GT '12 h-pipe. Wrapped the h-pipe with DEI wrap. Little bit of DEI sealer and header paint. Picked up the tip from a moto guy. Expecting a smoke show, but I guess baking out in CA sun before install helped the "curing" Sounds bitchin' Never a big fan of the side pipe thing. Ford could have put the $ elsewhere.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Step 1: Drain radiator overflow tank and filled with Antifreeze (I run distilled water + Water Wetter normally) for a 11/15 track day.
Step 2: Start Boss, leave idling till engine gets up to temp and antifreeze circulates through engine
Step 3: Get involved with 1,000,000 other things around the house and forget Boss is running in the garage
Step 4: Go to gas station for 5 gallons of 93 octane after Boss chokes on empty

All this knowing it's probably going to snow by the weekend ::)

If you were PeteInNJ, Your car would have been gone - probably stripped and abandoned somewhere in Newark.
