Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Installed my home built 302S front lower control arms. Howe ball joints, Ford Racing bushing kit and a spare set of Laguna Seca arms I bought for $50. Total cost $676, cost if you buy them from Ford racing $1095. Getting the old bushings off is about a $400 headache though  J/K

Decorated the car and went to the Shriners Toy Drive---400 cars and great food and people. Of course I had the best Boss there.

Looks like a fun project; said no one ever.

Seriously, I can't wait to see your initial impressions. The front end should really be planted and responsive (steering wheel feedback/feel) after this upgrade. Good job!!

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

I had Steeda arms with the raised ball joints and poly bushings and the responsiveness was much improved. Went to 302S style more for the Howe ball joints reliability and repairability. Can change out a ball joint in 15 minutes now if needed.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

did another of my ritual drive / rides...drive the boss / rode a killer mountain bike. In this case, it's the new Ibis Mojo HD3 (I'm probably the first end consumer to get one of the frames...got the frame fri night then worked into the weeeee hours of the morning building it and have had it out on a few rides...absolutely amazing bike). The boss swallows a bike of this nature just fine...simply take off the wheels and it'll slide right into the trunk with the back seats down. I live at the base of a locally-famous road named Big Basin (aka hwy 9) that runs up and over the santa cruz mountains from Saratoga on the east side to the ocean in santa cruz. I grew up in saratoga and spent many, many days doing what we called 'basin racin' ...so, ya, I know the road pretty well. So yesterday, not today (I couldn't find a thread called 'what did you do with your boss yesterday ;-) I packed the bike in the car before heading to an offsite meeting for work. when it finished around noon, I headed right for the trails. Hwy 9 hits a road called Skyline Blvd that runs along the ridge of the santa cruz mtns and it's an absolute haven for high performance cars and motorcycles. So it's pretty fun for me to run up hwy 9 in the boss...park in this little parking lot at the top where it's a mix of all the motorcycle guys and weekend car races are parked (bench racing) and the mtb guys...get out of the boss with people asking the standard questions like "is that the stock exhaust?"...then open the trunk, pull out bits of bike, assemble it in the parking lot and head off for an epic mtb ride. Then I get to do it all in reverse. pretty special stuff.
I posted some pics on an mtb site (mtbr.com) so if you want to get a quick sense, here's the link:

Nice ride. Are those 29's? I was just looking at bikes last weekend but it was for a friend. I'm trying to impress on him the motto "friends don't let friends ride junk" but he's insisting on buying a bike not worthy of the Santa Cruz mountains!

they're 27.5" wheels (split the difference between 26" and 29"). they're AKA 650b and have been used on the road forever for smaller riders, tri bikes, and other things in lieu of 700c or 29"

I've been riding 27.5's for about 7 years now but just in the last couple of years have they caught on in mass. some manufactures are now moving to 27.5-only lineups...no 29ers even. But the whole industry is certainly moving away from 26"

This HDR is 27.5 and I have a 29er from Ibis also called the Ripley. both are outstanding bikes.

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

I sold it. *2013 Boss #3019 is off to a new home* Enjoyed the ride over the last couple of years. Had a great time and will stay on BossMustangs Online as I really dig the people.
This was my 5th and last S197 Mustang and I am just not feeling' it with the new 2015---that is until I see and drive the new GT350 or GT350R or one of the other new platforms that Ford is working on. For now I need to read my owners manuals for the new white Garage queen....

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Ah Ric, that explains the parts purge. Enjoy the Porsche, looks good.

Being new to my Boss I get to do the basic things some of you old hands would probably find quite pedestrian.................but hey!............it's part of the process!
Just installed the pair of exhaust 3/4" "gaskets" (as Ford likes to euphemistically call them) I received from Rick. Much better sound! Thanks to some reading here the whole process from rolling up on the ramps to putting away the tools took about 17 minutes, even with my arthritic hands. Pretty generous return on investment I'd say.... :)

A new Cayman GTS, sweet. Is it fast enough? PDK?
Actually it is a regular Cayman-and it is plenty quick. Not Boss quick mind you, but quick and it weighs a little over 2900 lb...It does have PDK and Sport Chrono.
The handling is off of the charts....

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Like Drew I undertook a major engine project today.......not. Changed spark plugs, took 1.5 hrs. Original set changed at 16900 miles, this set at 29600 miles. Looked evenly tan on all 8 cylinders, gaps were about .002" wider than the new replacements. Original coils still look perfect.
