Beautiful Handling Package Mach 1 -------- still believe this is one of the most beautiful Mustangs ever built. I may be biased but I am also right, ha!

How can you tell it’s a handling package car from the picture? Please educate me.

Always a chance it was added , but I just went off the rear wing and it appears to have the Gurney Flap installed , so just a semi educated guess.

Thanks I have not paid attention to what makes up the handling package since I wasn't looking at buying one as long as My S197 is serviceable.

It is not

motor, different front suspension, fenders, etc etc

I think the two biggest are mechanically the flat-plane crank "Voodoo" engine in the GT350 vs. a "normal" cross-plane crank Coyote in the Mach 1, and visually the wider front fenders with rear vents on the GT350 to allow for a slightly wider front track. The Mach 1 does share the Tremec gearbox with the GT350, plus some other "trickle down" parts.

A few years ago Holly and I were in CA for her onsite work orientation. One of her executives lived in “wine country”. He had a 100 point Grabber Orange ‘70 B2. Beautiful car. Also had a ‘19 (?) GT350R. He let me drive it throughout the countryside for about an hour. Smiles for miles…

Along with some other trickle down parts from the GT 500 per Ford Engineers who show up at the " Fast Fords and Mustang Roundup " event at Hastings , Ne. in September ( racemph.com )

The positives going forward is IMSA will see their heavy hand on the Blue Oval Thoroughbreds was a bit harsh , since with 24 minutes left a top 10 might be their top placing?!

Yep, no pace and I thought they would have two in the top 10, but with the speed everyone else had it was hard to accurately predict. I do imagine with all the Ford Big Wigs there for the event John Doonan ( IMSA President. ) will be getting more than an earful!!!!
