Wow that is really sad news. I never met him but talked to him many times on the phone. The story behind AUTO-BLiP and BMO/TMO goes back to the very first BMO track event at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in February 2013. Gary, John and I all rented CVR Academy cars for our two days there. It was basically open track days and was the first time many of us early members met. Drew @ArizonaBOSS , Chris @captdistraction and Ron were there as were several others. The academy cars had AB's installed and it wasn't until the second day that I was shown what it was. I was impressed with how well it worked. When I got home I looked it up and called Andres. I remember he was a bit puzzled why his device was not selling better so I invited him to be one of the very first BMO/TMO venders. He was always very helpful with problem installs and was a very nice guy to work with. RIP Andres!

Oh wow. This is terrible news. I didn’t have the pleasure of chatting with Andres as much as many of you. Wish I had. RIP buddy.

Finally got to try it out at a local SCCA Track Night here. Ran with the novice group for a couple of laps trying to get it adjusted to my liking. Had it coming in too late at first, dialed it in to blip sooner. Did the rest of the night with the main group. Only problem was that the delay knob moves so easily that it change a little on me during the sessions. Need to figure out how to keep it from moving so easily.

Dave

Where did you mount the unit? I have mine in the console and use Velcro tape to hold it where I need and can still remove to fiddle with it.
Console just above shifter with velcro Also I just saw old posting on using little o ring under knob to give it more friction. Tried that and works fine. knob stays where I set it.

I know this thread is ancient, but I’m going to chime in anyway.
First, sorry to hear about the passing of Andres. Whoever it was, on the phone today who carried on the legacy of the terrific customer service, I presumed to be Andres.

I just got my Auto-Blip installed on my ‘12 Boss. Tool me a bit but it was pretty straightforward. I ran into a bit of a “snag” where I doubted myself and called them. I received an immediate call back to assure me I’d done things right and then he walked me through the calibration.

Terrific customer service. Gave me their time on a Sunday afternoon!

A bit of cursing and swearing and dislocation of my shoulders but all in all a success. Took her for a brief test drive and it works great! Won’t be able to take it to the track until the 28th….

Hello friend(s), thank you for your kind words! My name is Al, and I’m Andres’ oldest brother. I took on the responsibility of keeping Auto-Blip relevant in the racing community after my brother passed away. Hard to believe it has now been 14 years since we first marketed Auto-Blip. I have spend a lot of time learning, improving and developing Auto-Blip. Today we market 3 different units for various applications. I am currently working to develop a unit for 05’-10’ Mustangs. Correct, we do not have one after all these years. Andres used to retrofit on request a Standard AB unit to work on an APPS with 3 signal wires. Most cars, including post-2010 Mustangs, use only 2 signal wires. But he never sent it for final development and production. So after he passed away in 2021 they have not been available. If someone out there has one, and can loan it to us for a couple of weeks, I will compensate you for that. And, of course, return it to you once we examine it. And you will get a new one once they come out. We are well advanced in the development of one, but having a working one to pair them up would definitely expedite things. If you live near the St Petersburg, FL area and have a 2005-2010 Mustang, reach out. Please do not hesitate to contact me direct if you have any questions or need any help. I will guarantee that TMO members will always get the very best price out there. You can reach me at (713)289-4015 or at [email protected]
I am not here to make anyone a believer, but I stand behind Auto-Blip providing unequal precision and consistency when needing to ‘blip’ your throttle. Not exactly something you want to be doing with your heel as you approach a curve at 80 mph.
