Since the Gen 2 is essentially a Boss motor using all the good gear did Ford use an upgraded balancer as well stock or is the Boss still better for RPMs?

That's more than a thousand I ever go...usually 6K is the limit for me and the Boss.............The motor's screaming by then!!!7,500 RPM.
Another option to consider is the Gen3 balancer which is now a viscous balancer. I never got around to asking if it can be used on the earlier generations but if you're calling Ford anyway it's worth a shot.

I just came across a photo of the 2020 Gen3 balancer. It appears to have reverted to the elastomeric design. The price between the KR3Z and the old part would seem to confirm this as well.Another thing to note is that it’s already been updated once. So make sure you get the newer part.
