We have always had similar pace in the past...I will be in trouble once you get those driving skills polished again.

Let's get that thing up and running!

I'm being jestful, truth be told:

Another daily update:

The APR wing arrives today, I won't get to it until this weekend
Finished buttoning up the motor, now I need to go build a crate cradle I can transport the assembly in (pretty simple).

I'm toying with the fire systems and motor mounts. I think I've found the system I want (4 liter, 6 nozzles, mechanical pull), but I'm working out the details on the pulls as I've had issues with them in the past on other cars.

On the motor mounts, Watson is backordered on their excellent mounts, but I've considered getting a stock-replacement style mount from BMR. I don't net any weight savings or additional clearance, but gives me the flexibility to move the motor up and down a bit.

Finally, I have 2Mx1M of gold heat wrap coming in that I'll insulate the forward bulkhead and intake manifold with, along with a few other parts to hopefully control heat. The stuff weighs nothing, and I placed an order from China to keep the costs low. If it doesn't pay off, not a big deal, investment was less than $50.

I got a good chuckle out of this, thanks.

On a serious note, good to see this continuing to progress. Good luck and keep the updates coming!

All in and looking tidy! Feels good to see some real progress, with some serious help from local friends, we "Poe"-ed in the motor using a picker to pick up the car and a pallet jack to position the drivetrain.

I desperately want to fire this thing up but the reality is I still have to wait for the interior painting to be completed, glass install, etc before I can put all the harnesses get reinstalled

On that note, anyone have a decent trick for draining whatever fuel has been sitting in there for a year?

Yes very simple; remove inlet pipe (big rubber line w/ hose clamp) from rear driver's side of tank, insert siphon or hand pump, drain.

Bit of both possibly. The former will be the first implement. We will see on the brakes before I go crazy with fabrication

cold beer induction?

The BMR mounts worked out real nicely to lower the motor enough to fit a strut tower brace without washers. I still don't understand how this brace helps being that its just some wimpy m8 studs with 20ft-lbs at the 4 fasteners.

Somehow, inexplicably, the headers clear the steering when .25" down, clear the frame/k-member as long as the trans is bolted up all the way, and the bar clears with just over .33" space (which makes me wonder if it would have cleared at stock height anyways). probably not with any angular motion across the mounts in operation.

Next updates: I'm going to get an IDS tool this weekend, hopefully finish installing the exhaust and going over all the suspension for torque setting, and finish up some work on the decklid.
