That 8-9-10 complex is the one I was referring to. Watch that on the videos and look at the track CAD map posted a few pages back. That is going to be the most challenging area I think.

The elevation map shows it as banked into the turn here, but all the videos show it as off-camber.

I have only had one day going CW around this track and that was two years, lots of other days going CCW. I kinda wish we were going CCW, I know those lines.
It will be fun to learn the CW lines.

Er...I don't think 5 is off-camber. I haven't been to the track, but the map with the elevations and banking say turn 5 is +1 degree. 9 is the off-camber with -2 degrees.

I'll stick around for dinner Monday night if it's not too late. I'd like to roll out before 7 or so.

9 is off camber and slow. I've seen a few cars off track on that turn so I creep through it. It's an important turn as it leads into 10 which opens up to the longest straight.

Oh I see what you're saying on the other map. The one I posted isn't labeled and I was just guessing.

Re: Chuckwalla Valley Raceway February 18th and 19th Dinner and Details

I spoke with Renee and Bob, our instructor for Monday, and gathered the following info:

· We will start at 8:00 and it’s just our group so no reason to arrive much earlier
· The track is 50 miles from the casino in Indio so plan accordingly. I plan on leaving by 7:00.
· We are the only group using the track that day so three with an instructor and nine bringing their own cars with no instructor
· We will have a drivers meeting to see how they want to organize the run groups, instruction vs. no instruction
· With only 12 cars there’s really no reason not to have one group and or open track all day
· Bob is the lead instructor and is looking forward to working with us

For dinner Bob recommended an Italian sports bar called Charlie Marrones. It’s right off of Interstate 10 so it should be easy for everyone to find. I invited Bob to join us and he said he might just do that.

I also confirmed their cafe will be open for food and drink. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on Monday.

That sounds fantastic!

I plan to get to fantasy springs by 5:00 or so Sunday. Maybe we can meet up at the club LIT in the casino Sunday evening. Always has live music.

There's a pretty big open lot accross from the casino for, those that are trailering to fantasy springs.

I don't think I'll be in until after 9:00 Sunday evening so I'll have to catch up with everyone at the track Monday morning. For anyone staying at Fantasy Springs do you want to meet for breakfast and then carpool out to the track?
Yes. That would be good. I would love to leave my truck with my wife as she is going to hang out at the resort.

Was trying earlier to see if I could get out there with all you guys, but good thing I could not work into my schedule as have some rotator cuff problems. So, since since stuck in the snow like so many others, make sure you get some good GoPro Vids and other shots so all of us living at the North Pole can live vicariously through you lucky few, ha!!

Neat shot of the track showing the elevation changes, and just making me more determined to get to this track on my bucket list.

Good question. I'm planning on bringing my firesuit, that will probably be nice and comfy in the cold mornings. Mid-day...we'll see.

So it looks like we will have a spectator with us driving a third car, and possibly my buddy from GM; so maybe the four of us will join for dinner on Monday night? TBD...

He's on assignment at the proving grounds in Yuma, lately I guess. CVR is only 2.5 hours from there and it looks like he doesn't need to be at work on Monday. Sounds like Sophia is coming along...
