    What's that old saying in the tech world, "Fast, good or cheap. Pick two." Maybe applies to solid rear axles as well?

    Yep. stock car guys have been doing something like this for years, put the housing in a press and basically bend it to where you need it, then barrel grind the splines on the axles. It was hard on axles, especially on short tracks, but it sure did work. The Cortex unit is light years ahead of that.
