Garmin Catalyst Driving Performance Optimizer

I bought the suction mount off Amazon which did work with my Cat1 camera. It is too small for this. I guess the best bet is to buy the Garmin one and then return it if it doesn't fit. I wonder if they ask which version you have on checkout, but seems unlikely.
Here is a picture of one of the accessories that came in the box with the Cat2, held against the Cat1 camera. It is too large. They are different sizes. Unless I'm a moron...which...you know...I'm accused of sometimes.

Advise on where to mount that big original version? For got how big they were and bought one pretty cheap but putting on dash area with suction cup seems like it will get in the way. Others hardmount it to dash any way to do that without screwing into your nice new dash? Might try and figure out a temporary hard mount but with the 650 panels not about of room

I mounted mine where it sat in the middle right on the top of the dash and it did not interfere with my vision; in my case it occupied the same field of vision as my hood, so no loss of vision looking down the track. YMMV

Says the guy with the least amount of factory trim on any Mustang on this site.

Could do something like this, small bracket coming out of a join between 2 dash parts that allows you to bolt a second part to.

While the manifold project is stalled waiting for parts to arrive, i got back to the other project that had stalled cause i'm still waiting for a sensor 10 weeks later. For those following along, had shocking temperatures for oil after doing a lot of work to prevent that. Decided that it didn't...

Ok thanks. It’s more trying tow download them to my computer. They don’t import automatically so as a computer non literate i can’t utilize them. I can save the sessions on the garmin and can find them on my computer when i plug it in but trying to manipulate them after that seems difficult. I might try and put them on an apple

Personally I love my V1, but I use it mostly for the predictive lap timer and I watch the video after each session to improve my performance while I'm still sitting in the car.
There is an active driver coach function which is very good as well.
There are lots of other setups with tons of data collected that are popular and awesome, but for me the reality is that I would never use any of it.
As soon as I walk away and go to the laptop and load stuff and try to crunch data in a meaningful way I have already forgotten what day it is and if I've had lunch yet.
I need something that helps in the moment or very quickly afterwards with pictures and video.
I'm old, I'm surprised I can still climb through the window and find my way to the checkers.

I have the V1 and love it. Gives me what I need to know plus video.
Are there more sophisticated units on the market? yes.
Do they cost a lot more and are they more complicated to use? Also yes.
I love that I can sit in the car right after a session and watch the whole video instantly with data and an option to stich together all the best corners to give me a best lap scenerio.
Then I can unclip it from the mount and bring into the trailer or hotel room and rewatch all the runs from that day or any other day as it has enough memory to keep a ton of information on there.
I also love that you can plug in ear buds (or pair blue tooth ear buds) and it will give you live coaching which I find very useful.
It has an onboard speaker so you don't have to use earbuds but my racecar is way too noisy to take advantage of that. A street car with an interior and decent mufflers would be fine.
The V2 instantly lost me with the smaller screen, so I won't be using that.....and that's my 2 cents.
