Hopefully the car will be ready for shakedown late May. Should get to VIR with it later this season. Doing the Superfest/Chin VIR event next month with the R.

Meanwhile, got clear film applied to the GT4 splitter and canards:

No idea where the weight will end up. The R is 3650. Obviously the cage adds weight, but with all the weight reduction, I'm hoping for around 3450. We'll see.....

3450 is right where I am with my Boss. 3602 with me in it and a 5 gallons of fuel, and yes I weighed 152 at the time

The stainless canard fasteners were bugging me, so pulled the front end and replaced then with black:




Also installed the Coolshirt cooler mount in the trunk, with 4x M8 rivnuts and spacers to accommodate the uneven tire well contours:

Did you replace the stainless screws with alloy steel ones or did you find stainless with a black oxide finish?

Yes, the GT4 splitter is a CF shell, that weighs about 3lbs and slides on top of the R splitter, adding length forward and depth.

It uses the R undertray fixtures in addition to the 2 cable stays, up front.

Any trimming of the Oem R splitter needed to fit the GT4 over top it?

I did trim 1/4” off each end on my OE splitter. That’s what Dean suggested.

Didn't need to trim mine. Just used a rubber mallet to drive it back. Removed it a couple of times, no issue.
