2014 GT TP with 44k miles
A/C started blowing hot air. No bad fuses, no bad relay's. I did put a gauge on the Low side port to see if it was low on R134A...it was not.
I spun the compressor clutch by hand, it does not spin very freely, and my hand was covered in a fine black grease or oil?
With the A/c off and the engine running the clutch sits still and the pulley rotates with the belt. When I turn the A/C on Max A/C and Max fan, the clutch still does not move, but the car kicks up the idle like it engaged the A/C, and the low speed cooling fan comes on.
Does this sound like I need a new A/C compressor?
I have never had a car with A/C issues, so I am going off what little info I could find on this subject that is relevant to the 11-14 S197 mustangs.
Thank you.
