@j3st3r i certainly understand why you're making the switch and the track here in NE are like that too. I feel like even with the Boss intake and 3.31's it's a really good pairing since if you need to extend a gear you can still be the powerband. I don't shift as much as others which has been stated allows me to concentrate on entry and exit.

I too think the Boss and GT 3.73 gears are too steep for most road courses. In my Boss, I have a close ration Magnum XL with a .80 fifth gear overdrive running a 4:56 rear end. The overall gearing when you multiply the transmission ratios and rear end ration, is roughly equivalent of running a 3.45 rear gear with the MT82.

The gearing works very well on most tracks and, as Modern Beat mentioned above, makes driving the car easier

Gears are in, and got some new "look at me" items installed today

Did not put the door numbers on yet, because I am still undecided where on the door I want to put the, front, middle or rear. Busted out my magnet set to try and decide.....still have not :(

Out of curiosity, where did you get all that "look at me" stuff? And the numbers?

I get them from Falcon Graphics, in Utah. Clark is on site at the Utah Motorsports Campus and does all of the graphics for the Ford Performance School cars and trucks. His work and turn around time are absolutely awesome!

So put several hundred miles on the new gears and went ahead and changed the fluid, just to make sure nothing was floating around in there :)

Does your lift have LEDs?!?!?

Very much appreciated for the info. I'm going to hit him up, I really like the way that stuff looks on your car. My build is starting Monday with the cage getting put in. I have probably 20 boxes of things in the garage that are going on the car. Lol and excited.

@j3st3r how are you liking the gears?

Got a chance to shake the car down last weekend at NCM Motorsports park....VERY much like where the gears are putting me in my RPM range, I was actually carrying 17 more miles an hour into one of the corners not having to worrying about rpms, and shifts. Not sure how well I am going to like the adjustable LCA, with the sphericals....they definitely corrected all of the alignment issues I needed them too....but DAMN they are noisy :)

Be Careful with the fumoto oil drain valve, friend of mine ran over a curb on track and caught it ripping it off and drained the sump. Luckily (or not) he went 4 off and damaged the splitter in the grass which caused him to stop before any engine damage occurred. Car is looking sharp!

After i installed the Ford(non adj.) lca and brackets and panhard bar, after i centered the rear my thrust angle was off! Did you have the same alignment issues? And which adj. lca did you go with...couldnt find in your build. Thanks Rob

Yes this is exactly the issue I had, installed the Ford(non adj.) lca, and brackets and thrust angle was WAY out, somewhere near 24, installed Shelby/BMR adj LCA, with sphericals and all is good not.....except for the CONSTANT noise......but dont street drive it so I can live with it

Yeah...honestly might be removing this...just afraid that any significant off could damage the oil pan, if something contacts the valve

Thanks for the reply. Yep those were my numbers also. I'm at 2 now but frame is off about 1/8 inch, pass wheel sticking out... not crazy but want it right on. I'm gonna try and loosen the lca bolts and try to adjust with prybar... maybe a littl movement in there! Was lookin at the MM adj. ext arms, but 400(ouch)! Like Steve said, be careful with those drain stems, use the stock. Thanks again, your car looks awesome! Rob

I have the dimensions for it if you'd like to make your own. It's not the same as the one j3st3r made though.

Jester,
Do you have any Peterson oil catch can brackets available? If so, Shoot me an email. [email protected]
Thanks, Rick
