I believe either on the AJ Hartman or Racelouvers website they test many hood louvers and a tiger hood in the wind tunnel. I don't have time to look it up now but perhaps @AJ Hartman or Al @ Racelouvers @302blown will chime in with a link.Back to the original post. I have looked at these louvers for my car. Adding up the cost of a salvage yard hood, louvers, and paint work adds up to the cost of a Tiger hood not including paint.
Are louvers better than the Tiger hood??
Dont ask me how my tiger hood flew off on the highway at 80mph and got ran over by a semi truck..Phoenix always ran tiger hoods, but keep in mind they are RACE hoods not street hoods and the finish quality is comensurate.

OUCH!!!!!.....Let me go out on a limb here and take a wild guess that a lack of hood pins could have contributed to this very unfortunate episode.....I'm sure the semi survived unscathed..Dont ask me how my tiger hood flew off on the highway at 80mph and got ran over by a semi truck..
They are pretty flimsy, I could see them tearing through the hood pins.OUCH!!!!!.....Let me go out on a limb here and take a wild guess that a lack of hood pins could have contributed to this very unfortunate episode.....I'm sure the semi survived unscathed..
The cause was simple.. Driver forgot to put ANY pins in before driving to store. But its a blessing becuase the Race Louvers stuff makes about 3x the improvement vs. the more tame Tiger hood..They are pretty flimsy, I could see them tearing through the hood pins.
