Re: Auto-Blip Install and Instruction Information

There isn't a set rpm, only a delay and duration of throttle opening. The RPM will be base on what rpm the car is at when you clutch in. For example if you are in 4th gear at 6500 rpm and you brake from 120 to 70 the rpm will be at about 3000, to engage 3rd which will bring rpm to say 4700, you want the duration to open the throttle enough to hit say 5200. Delay is the time that the blip happens after the clutch goes in. It takes some getting used to but does work pretty well for me so far. A programmable version where you can enter gear ratios and tire size would be even better, I am sure Anders is working on that for V.2

Thats a great idea because if it knows your wheel speed and gear it can optimize the blip.
How do you like this device so far?

Where did you mount yours? Would you please take a photo of where you installed yours and post or email to me?

Can't do the photo as I have family over. I went just right of steering column but it is too close to my knee, so I am going to move to the left side.

Anyone know how to disconnect the brake harness? No problems with the other two.

Hi Rick,
The brake sensor can easily be removed by gently twisting it counter clockwise about a 1/4 of a turn. This will give more access to the connector.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Andres

Rick as you may have found out the connector is on the blind side of the switch. I used a right angle pick to lift the tab while pulling up on the connector. Took 20 minutes until I gave up and pulled the drivers seat. Tried again and got it on the 2nd try. Then you have to unwrap the tape. You'll get it just use patience.

Re: Auto-Blip Install and Instruction Information

Thanks for everyone's help and my Auto-Blip is in and working properly. I'm not sure how my back and shoulders faired but I'll find out tomorrow. I've already moved the unit from my initial position and it's temporarily sitting far left of the steering column. I've got to run out for Easter dinner but will post up a couple of tips later. Photos of the unit with the knobs rotated 180 degrees and my son thinking I looked funny on my back inside the car. You really need a little person to install the unit. ;)

Re: Auto-Blip Install and Instruction Information

I used to do two-way radio installs earlier in my youth, and sometimes you feel like a contortionist. I think that's why I sometimes have back problems.

Nice work getting it installed! Tee shirt and shorts is not fair :'( It's 36 degrees here in lovely MN.
Well if it makes you feel better it did rain today.

I used dense knee cushions with a towel for my back. It's a shame such a simple install becomes so challenging. One of the joys of aging. :)

One tip is to watch out for the seat studs when crawling in and out of the car. :(

Only takes about 2 hours total. Read through the posts here and if you run into an issue post the question.

Re: Auto-Blip Install and Instruction Information

I had time to do the install today. Took me 1 1/2 hours. It's almost plug and play. I played with it for a little while and I like it! It will definitely come in handy at the track. I can't wait to try it out at VIR next month
