@Albino500 get ahold of Blacksheep regarding dash lights please.

Good call on the containment seat. I have chronic neck problems and it really helps me during track days
I hate those seats.
Makes it hard to get in and out and limits my ability to look around, which I think is kind of important.
I especially hate the Hans crap (I use necksgen but still) I feel like I have one of those halos on my head that they use when they do back surgery so you can't move your head.
I know its supposed to be for my own good, but so are Lima Beans and I don't need those in my life either.

I need to look into some seats, I have tried a few but want to sit down in quite a good number before choosing. Turns out my bum is bigger than I thought and seats are quite uncomfortable if too tight on the ole hips

Stop by, I have a Recaro and a few different Kirkey seats here you can try out for size/shape.

OK, so after running several track days, I replaced the front seat. I had already installed a removable wheel, negating the air bag. I decided to use a seat that would restrict head movement, install a 5 point, and a Hans Device since I have chronic back issues.

I have a MOMO seats in mine. It keeps me from bracing my self in turns. Only bad thing it sux street driving.🤯IMG_4105.jpeg

The benefits of a good seat are completely underappreciated. I don't care if it as the side braces...I'm not looking that direction any way. The important part is that it holds your torso secure. Anytime you have to physically hold yourself in the seat, you're bound to be behind the car.

I know keeping weigh low is good and all, but the older I get, the higher I run the seat.

Any former kart racer can tell you the merits of a good fitting seat.I used to spend days fitting it to me, then fitting it to the kart, then scaling it, then doing it all again.

OK, so back to the security light. I was thinking with the belts unplugged, it might be the reason the light is going off. I purchased these...

Thinking I could just leave the belt harness in and plug these into the slots..but no, of course not, the harness seems to draw its voltage from the seat motor air bag scheme.
The wires going into the belt latch are not the same ones going to the belt sensor, so no seat motor/ air bag attachment, no habla on the easy button belt work around.

Don’t get me wrong, I have racing seats, I just don’t like the full containment seats. It’s the halo I don’t like. I use the center net method instead. It’s flexible, I can see through it and I can pop it open with the touch of a button if I have to make an emergency exit out the passenger side for some reason. Say you’re upside down against the wall on the driver side and the cars on fire….be damn tough climbing out with your head being trapped upside down in that halo. I’ll take the net every time.

There used to be some special seat simulator plugs for the harness you could buy to defeat the light…..but I couldn’t get them to work so it was the old black tape over the light trick that worked for me.

So I seem to be at a standstill until the Mustang help line gets back to me

I understand Fabman"s complaint here.I don't race and have no constraints when I " enjoy my Boss" except for an occasional seatbelt, maybe...........Safety equipment is there to keep you safe, but when it starts to interfere with your ability to enjoy your passions...................you decide which path to take...............................................

I raced 2 different spec mustangs with the full containment seats and they were horrible.
I know some people don't care to look side to side but I have had several occasions where other cars turned right into me because they said the couldn't see me even though I was right next to them so....either they are stupid, lying or legitimately couldn't see me past the seat. The HANS also limits your ability to turn your head so that's just adding insult to injury.
Now I know I'm just a dumb old ex circle tracker, but where I come from you look before you just turn into the side of another car and if part of your setup limits your ability to see what you're doing, you make changes.
You only get to crash someone a few times before they make sure you can't get your car back on the trailer so it helps keep the contact to a minimum.
