OK put the Beater up on my lift and pulled the trans, I discovered the new clutch ( installed by someone else prior to my owning it) had the face of it ripped off and it wallpapered the inside of the bellhousing. While I was there, I took the time to check out the Tremec 3650 , 5 speed as well. It was in great shape for 185K miles, so I replaced some seals and installed a new Sachs clutch, pilot bearing and throwout bearing. I checked it for function, and put it all back together.

I bet you ripped it off on a downshift - many have done that before including myself.
