Hmmm… guess my sarcasm doesn’t carry over to print very well. Just trying to stir the pot. ;D

I find that the most effective way to stir the pot is to show up ;)

Well, I'm closer to that goal. I've scheduled that weekend to be open, now I just have to have the extra funds available. It’s two weeks after nationals and two before NASA ECR. Knowing that there is some free beer up there with my name on it is obviously a huge financial consideration.

Are there shower facilities at the track and can I stay in my trailer? Minimum of 98 octane?

Too Hot for the Boss!
Shower facilities are awesome (f-in cold A/C in there!!!). I spent time cooling off in there last year and showered before my tow home. Great facilities.

Not sure on the 98 octane... they have 93 about 200 yards away from the track though. I'm sure George has a line on that high-octane stuff ;)

I'm a snoring mo-fo... but I will have an extra bed in the hotel room.

I'll throw in a beer too, whatever it takes ;)

Here's George's response to the other questions:

"Questions about RV spots at the track....we have 20/30/50 AMP RV Spots that will handle the largest of Tow Vehicles and Coaches. Great Showers too!

GT260 Sonoco 100 unleaded and renegade 102 unleaded the GT260 has ethanol and renegade does not and for this event both will be $10 per gallon.

and questions just give me a call or TEXT to 402-461-8031 or [email protected] works too! "

We're considering a 2 second penalty on the Rocky Mountain cars due to all the extra oxygen on the Nebraska Plains.

My car's been feeling just a bit underpowered in certain spots on a local track with some good elevation changes. It's gonna feel like a rocket way down near sea level in Hastings and on that flat track. 8)

Heh, it's not totally flat ,there are probably places where the elevation changes 5 ft. ----- and there are two curbs that if you hit them hard enough it is about a 5 foot drop by the time you come down,ha.

We're heading down to MPH 8/24 & 8/25 to get some laps on the new suspension there before the Mustang Roundup. George called me yesterday and said there's a brand new 2013 GT500 being delivered Saturday morning 8/25 to some FOMOCO guys and they're going to be shaking it down. Can't wait to see that bad boy on track ;)

About 15 Shelbys, at present, will be joining this group too, so the numbers keep climbing and it could be a great battle of the naturally aspirated against the super air suckers!!!

Typical event where there are those that sign up early, but then numbers start getting super strong as it gets nearer. This is the place to be in Sept. , especially as there are rumors there may be folks there to promote this event in some major mag rags and the internet. Be there, you and your car could be a Star!!!

It's getting exciting! The numbers are really starting to grow and this will be a great place to hang with a bunch of other Mustang owners. I'll be sure to give a full report after my advance recon visit this weekend. Looking forward to a couple track days running with several other Mustangs Friday and Saturday ;)

Straight from TMZ. Look who's doing double secret practice at MPH in preparation for next month's Mustang Roundup... ::)

***NEWS RELEASE***

I have some really exciting news to share about The Mustang Roundup! Those of you that were able to make it last year know Todd was the Mustang Planner and a key player at Ford in bringing back the Boss. Todd is currently the CD4 Platform Program Manager at Ford and owner of #LS022 for both the 2012 Black/Red Laguna Seca and 2013 SBY Laguna Seca. He and his father Doug will be piloting both cars in competition at the Roundup. I received the following email from Todd about several "special guests" that have confirmed for this year's event:

"Starting to get official confirmations from the Ford team on attendance.

I’m really excited about this one:

• Chuck Drake was Boss 302 vehicle engineering team leader and an expert on Boss 302 development, details, and decisions.
o Chuck and his father have a pair of 2012 and 2013 Boss 302s plus a collection of classic Mustangs and a continuation Cobra. Chuck’s father will be joining him for the weekend and I’m hoping they are able to bring a pair of cars out.
o Note: Two father and Ford employee son Boss teams!

Also confirmed:

• Bart Marowelli is a New Model Programs Launch Specialist that will be able to tell Gary anything he wants to know about his F-150 pull truck. We are debating about letting him drive a new Focus ST on the track with all these high horsepower cars or making him drive my Daily Driver Race Red 2013 5.0L Track Pack so I can have all 3 of my Mustangs onsite for the weekend.
• Jim Dunham is a Technical Specialist in Vehicle Architecture. He has helped set up the Mustang and Ford GT vehicles. He has also restored the original Lemans winning Ford GT for the Henry Ford Museum. Built 1 modern Ford GT from a salvage and is currently building another Ford GT from spare parts. (pic attached) I’m not yet sure what Jim is bringing. His 13MY Mustang GT, a Ford GT or just coming to hang out and talk with us.

Too Hot for the Boss!
I would LOVE them to bring a Focus ST. We were scheduled to buy one... then my wife drove a GTI... end of story :( Too bad they didn't have the STs out yet.

I hear ya. I have been looking forward to seeing one, but seeing one actually on a track would be a huge BONUS. They might even sell one ;) I'm thinking the consumables on that baby might be a little cheaper than the Boss, but maybe just as fast.

As one who flip flops from rear wheel drive to front wheel drive an ST at the track would be a huge benefit. There are plenty of Mustang owners who are excited about the new pocket rocket from Ford.
